Attendances v Crusaders and Hull since the franchise decision were encouraging enough to suggest that a foothold has been made in North Wales.

In my view the RFL are to blame for rushing and in their lack of due diligence with regard to directors and finances.

Looks like you will have a championship side to follow next year, once the rfl organise the championships again, nice to see how the community has rallied to help in saving the club, and to stay in wrexham too, be interesting to see what kind of side you have for next year; if only we had a similar response in blackpool when our club went tits up.

I guess the timing is right in Wrexham after seeing the football team saved by the fans the belief is there that Cru can do it on a smaller scale, maybe a trip to Blackpool for the NRC Final will be the reward sometime in the next 3 years.

Good news out of Wrexham today I thought.

This Saints fan has always been behind the Cru in Wales. I hope that this early enthusiasm from fans and businesses will materialise into a stable and successful club, and that one day in the not too distant future the Cru will be back in Superleague again!

To be honest Super League should be forgotten fir now and if we can have a club that is always near the top of the Championship or getting to Northern Rail Cup Finals then think about getting back there. For now it has to be about stability, bringing on local talent and giving the fans a few wins along the way to enjoy.

Keep ambitions low and spend accordingly and see where it leads us, if its a play off place so be it but survival in the first season both on and off the pitch would be a decent enough start. I can not really see us getting n SL again (on merit) ahead of Leigh or Halifax next time but at the end of the day that should not be the point of the new Cru and lets plan week to week rather than what might happen in 3/6/9 years time.

If RL is still being played at a decent level in North and South Wales in 10 years time that will be an achievement to be proud of in itself.

I agree, although I don't believe other clubs may get to SL ahead of you. But Championship rugby is good rugby and if Crusaders can compete in the Championship (as opposed to Championship 1) then there is still a player pathway. I wouldn't have thought many of the young guns coming through the system just now are above Championship level anyway. Hopefully, the team will be a good mix of experience and local players (who won't be experienced). That way you will be competitive AND be developing Welsh talent.

I just thought it was so encouraging to hear of the support the team has found in the local community. That's how Saints started and how other so-called heartland teams started. It's the only way to start really. But without the 'failed' Crusaders, that enthusiasm would have remained untapped. Amazing, really.
