I'm interested to see whether the Crusaders are catching on across Wales, as was hoped. I'm hoping to put together a radio documentary about the Crusaders and the impact they are having in the north of the country - the radio station is Wrexham based. my grandparents used to stay in a hotel in llandudno and the landlord was a big fan of league. a few of the loals would go in on a friday evening and watch the game. think the hotel changed hands but it does show that there is some interest in league... in a little part of llandudno at least

I'm from the COlwyn area, although I am currently residing in the Spain.
From my upbrining WIgan are my number 1 team, but I also have followed celtic crusaders via tv/internet and hope sometime i can go to my first match.

yes, agree, It's becoming a modern city, and there are some rugby teams up here, but unfortunately Uwnion, even though I lent my super league super tries dvd to one club.


But I agree, I'd love to see more of Crusaders in north wales and I agree the Wrexham area or more west along the coast, as there are no big rugby or sport clubs yet lot's of towns.

But to be honest unfortunately it's a hell of a lot easier for me (when I'm over in Wales) to go along the motorway to watch wigan, than travel all the way down south to watch Crusaders.

i have the same situation here in girona. there's rugb, but it's union. however there are plans afoot to start a league tournament in some form or another. fingers crossed!

Like the man said... easier for the north western clubs to develop into north wales, national pride not withstanding. Crusaders need to crack Bridgend first, along with Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and the valleys. Crusaders will get more joy from rugby fans in Bristol and Bath than from north wales, for simple geographical reasons.

Orginally living in the south it was all Union , but I never really got into Rugby until I moved to Colwyn bay and went to school with mates who followed Wigan, Widnes and Saints. After being taken to one game in the late 1990s with a mate I was hooked! having returned south , said mates now follow the Cru's progress with interest and were at the grand final and Leeds match and plan to do more when their 'wives' are playing away.



Few people in North Wales care about Rugby Union unless the national team are playing ,they don't have a professional team that near either and Wrexham was the original home of the Welsh Northern Union in 1907. By rights Wales should be a Rugby league hotbed but for historical intervention

The Rhyl coasters has a good side currently and more people coming across the boarder have spread the gospel of RL.

The main problem in wales is the gap between North and South . its bigger than Northern/Southern england in terms of access. This makes it hard for those living up north to follow something in the south even though the people are some of the most patriotic around.

The cru need to establish themselves in bridgend and the M4 corridor but
they will play atleast once in Wrexham next season and do what they can to encourage the gogs to get behind them.
