Pretty fitting that the season ends after a missed penalty goal and a dubious video referee decision. This must be the fourth or fifth game this year that has been lost as a result of attempting to kick a penalty and missing, killing the team's momentum and giving confidence to the opposition.

Menzies clearly lost control of the ball before touching down. Looking at his face he knew it. However I almost wish it had been given. It was too late to affect the result and it would have been fitting in his last match.

Darryl Millard is one of the most elusive and skilful centres when he is in form. Millard and Duport are the ideal centre combination of the current Catalan squad.

One could imagine that had Millard played in the centres (with Menzies in the second row) the Catalans attack might have been better.

What a sad farewell for Steve Menzies --- to lose your final game in the pouring rain at Hull.



I am sure that Beaver will try his best to forget that last game, and later on, when reminiscing of his years with Catalans, he will think of the much better times in the sunshine of Perpignan, especially the years when Trent Robinson was coach.
