I've defended this club from a lot of - largely ill-informed - b*ll*cks down the years, but they can seriously f--- right off with this.

What to do now?? I have supported this club for 7-8 years now. I don’t want to stop supporting them because of one player but I feel as though I am going to find it very very difficult to support him while he is on the pitch

as an LGBT dragons fan, I feel a bit sick to be honest, a shameful day. I opposed the signings of Bird, Carney et al but the story of redemption slightly sweetened it, this just feels plain wrong, we’re giving a chance to an unrepentant rotten egg. The club has hit rock bottom in my eyes.

Jimmy and I are putting our heads together to try and ensure some good comes out of this. Watch this space.

Whether people like it or not, most polynesians have very similar religious views.
The polynesian islands had some crazy cultural practices in pre colonial times that involved very structured belief systems, and this was largely replaced by pretty extreme christian beliefs, spread by missionaries from Mormons, Seventh day adventists etc.
If you interviewed the polynesians playing Rugby League around the world, most would refuse to discuss their views, but they would mostly be in lock step with Izzy.
The only difference between Izzy and a few hundred other high profile RL players of polynesian heritage is that Izzy won't stay silent about his religious beliefs.

There's clearly quite the difference in privately holding socially conservative views and actively proselytising the most extreme of them on social media.

They are his staunch Christian religious beliefs, maybe a little extreme but we have to put up with Muslims extremest rantings with no action taken, then there is SBW "Muslim" refusing to advertise the SL sponsor "Bet Fred" on his shirt, and they help pay his salary.
Also your LGBT community saying what`s right or wrong in their eyes, having gay pride marches and closing roads for them.

Folau is one of the best RL players I've seen.
In RU he was head and shoulders better than anyone in Australia and in the top handful of players in the world.
I don't care about his religious views.
I do care that the Prime Minister of Australia has very similar views (although he is too smart to advertise it), because that guy can change laws and policies to reflect his archaic views, but Folau when not playing footy is just another religious nut.

Folau is a magnificent Rugby League player, You are lucky to have him. If you don't want him, can you please send him to Newcastle,

I agree that Scott Morrison is more of a danger, but that doesn't diminish Folau's hate speech - for that is what it is. It's not a competition.

I am torn about this, because I think that you need to let the Folau's of this world say what they think, otherwise you will never be able to discourse with them and change their understanding. I think that some amount of penance is due and the club should have backed up his signing with a goodly amount of LGBT promotion and maybe rainbow laces for the squad (including Folau). Sadly I don't see any attempt at changing his views or helping him.
