As the quins thread got to three pages I thought I would have another crack!!!

Dragons will be under a bit more pressure to win this having lost badly to Quins whilst putting in a less than convincing performance. Add the opening day defeat to Wakefield and you could see some panic.

The positives are that it is the first home game and it will be a bit warmer in France so that might inspire some of the players who looked cold and fed up on Sunday.

The early team news I have managed to pick up around the forums are that Bosc and Baille wont play, and Casty returns from suspension.

You would hope that as the season gets going the newbies will start to come into their own and have the same sort of impact that the likes of Ryles and Bird had last year.

Saints have had a mixed start to the season having beeen squashed at home by Hull FC and beaten Bradford away, but will be travelling with a bit of confidence from that defeat of the Bulls.

We could really use Ryles right now.

That said, Saints are our bunnies on home turf, so history is on our side.

We are down four first teamers for the game at your place: Cunningham (due to a family bereavement), Flannery (injured), Gardner (injured) and Soliola (injured). I hope no-one else gets injured or else we're going to have to start bringing in the very new guys, as opposed to those who were very new last season.

Must confess, I'm glad Bosc won't be playing: not because I wish injury on anyone but because we might have a bit of a chance with him not kicking us to death!

Out of interest, I thought Ferriol would be banned for you guys. Didn't he get sent off against Quins ?

He did get sent off, but (and my translation of French off the offy isnt great) it would appear the red card was punishment enough.

£250 fine for the punch, not to trivialise it (but this will, sorry), how much does that work out per tooth?

and people wonder why the better clubs aspire to play in the British competition, travelling with 15 men is the kind of thing you see happening in the Barrow and District league.

No arguments about the red card and it was game over right there. Slightly concerned over the lack of organisation once Elima went - too few players seemed to know where they were supposed to be.

Barthau-watch: Didn't get much ball in hand, especially after the red card, but showed a few decent touches.

I think that was the right decision by Ganson but I'm not convinced Elima was malicious in his tackle; I'm inclined to believe he just got it all wrong. I don't think he should be banned.

Elima's never been noted for being a dirty player, but it looked awful. I expect a couple of games for that at least. Only his previous good record will save him from worse.
I can't and won't defend it. He led with the forearm/elbow to the head and that's a ban for mine.
