According to Alex Chan, the football coach of the club, the Catalans are getting closer to the number of recruits abroad.
The Dragons have already impressively recruited in 2019 with the acquisitions of Sam Tomkins, Matty Smith and Matt Whitley.
However, Chan, who spoke to League Express of the Anthony Gelling saga, revealed that he was still working on another case before 2019, and hinted that it was a signature that would catch the eye.
"I can not go further than to say that we are in deep negotiations with a leading player in the southern hemisphere," he said.
"If we can overcome what has happened in recent days, we can begin to make progress in this area. Now it's up to Steve (McNamara) to evaluate. We are lucky with what we have this year.
