Ladbrokes Challenge Cup 2018 Sixth Round Draw
The draw for the sixth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup was made live this morning on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, as the remaining eight Super League Clubs joined the eight survivors from last weekends ties.
All four of the top flight sides who entered the competition at round five made it through unscathed, although the Catalans Dragons had a bit of a fright at Championship One side York City Knights before emerging as 34-22 victors.
Whitehaven, the only survivors from the third tier, who had a fantastic 38-0 victory over Championship side the Rochdale Hornets, will have been eagerly anticipating a tie against one of the big sides and a nice pay day.

He won't know who they've drawn yet.
He's still in high powered communicado with Red Hall discussing the Kelly situation.

Tbf to you, it's been a while since we beat a strong SL team in good form in a competitive fixture. We beat a previously unbeaten St. Helens, who finished the season 2nd, in late March 2015. Following that and our most recent derby win, we then beat Hudds on Easter Monday 2015 - they finished 4th that year.
So, just over three years ago. Obviously, we were never going to have many chances in 2017 though!
Edit: we beat Wigan themselves in the Cup in May 2015, of course. So still less than 3 years!

| Being completely optimistic. We beat Wigan away in this Rd when we went to Wembley, and then went unbeaten in the middle 8's that year.
So I'm looking for the same again.
In seriousness, we're at home, which is all you can really ask at this Rd. And it's a free shot. If we lose its expected, if we win could build some confidence in the team.

| There weren't many easy draws in there and the home tie is bonus. It is winnable but will be very tough for us. Shot to nothing really, you never know.

Cas v Saints
Hudds v Wakey
probably the two BBC games
Would imagine Toronto v Warrington will be on Sky
Feath v FC has some nostalgia to it
Leigh v Salford, local derby (in effect)
Wigan, Cup legends
Leeds, Champions
KR, recently promoted
plenty of reasons why EVERY game should be televised. In fact, replace Magic Weekend with this round in future if we keep the format.

They were 6th after 23 rounds (W12, L11) and 30 rounds (W15, L15) in 2015, so I thought it might be a bit of a stretch to include them.

Someone else advocated that a while back. Great idea that would create interest. Magic Weekend has run it's course and we don't need an game not to mention another derby.

Not a cat in hells chance of them televising Hudds/Wakey in front of 22,000 empty plastic seats.
Besides, the BBC will broadcast Sat n Sun, Huddersfield Town are at home to Arsenal on Sun 13th, so the Giants game will be Fri night with or without tv interference.

| You're not going to win the cup or get to wembley so surely a dignified exit against a decent team is the best way out? Gives you 3 free weekends during the season to rest some players and maybe get one over on teams coming off the back of cup games.
Winning the cup in the last 2 years was amazing but the cup runs likely cost us 2 grand final spots and maybe even a couple of wins

| Did it knackers, big yourselves up all you like but you were no way the best team in the league over the last two years for any time other than than for a few weeks at a time.
We're generally rubbish, but Hull have never displayed the mental fortitude to win a play off season.

I agree with your general sentiments but Cas were far and away the best team in the league last term and that didn't help them much when it came to winning at Old Trafford. In fact the Grand Final winners lost 66-10 at Cas early in 2017 so you don't even need to be nearly the best team in the league it seems.

Were on about the big boys cup not your win a couple of games and they give you a CC the grand final you know the one where you choke and the proper big clubs win

| Considerably weaker than last few year and Saints/Wigan/Warry have their ducks in a row it seems? The 2016 in particular looked a penalty kick for getting to Old Trafford with other teams in turmoil. Going back to the CC Hulls draw is tasty as win v Fev and maybe draw Leigh/Sal or Wakey/Hudd at home then Semi looks very makeable.Same logic applies for us although we face a bigger obstacle in Wigan.
