What are your thoughts on him? I think for the small salary he is on he has been a gamble that has paid off. He is getting used properly now Lunt is here and looks to be getting better each game. I didn't realise how slight he was `till he cam over to the north stand after the game to embrace the fans.
His ball distribution is good, has a good engine and is starting to scoot and take on the defence a bit more. Haven`t seen him drop any major clangers in defence too. If he continues to improve I can see him getting a longer deal, but with Ian Henderson getting on at Catalans maybe playing at home would be a better option if they were in for him.

Not doing enough for me just yet. Steady rather than unspectacular. I wanna see him scoot more but maybe that will come with confidence.

Self evidently he is better than Carlile, which isn't saying much. Based on his season to date, he is worth at least another 12 months contract extension.

He's done ok so far but lacked confidence & experience to be more commanding around the ruck. He will get better watching Lunt than he would have Carlile in training. confidence to scoot more will come with more game time experience. defo worth a contract extension as an understudy to a 1st choice No.9 - hopefully Lunt will stay on.

Why do some people seem to think that every French player is a target for Catalans? Seems strange to me that people view things in that way. If Catalans were remotely interested in Boudebza they would've signed him years ago and he wouldn't have been playing for Lezignan.

Ever thought that he never made enough progress whilst at Lezignan or when watched by Catalan scouts. Rovers obviously saw something about the kid, took a gamble and it's paying off at the minute as Boubebza appears to be getting better the more game time he's given, He's also now in a full time enviroment recieving better coaching and been around a better quality of player.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if Catalans come knocking in the future.

Why Catalans as opposed to any other SL team? They're hardly short on hookers. I just don't understand why people think all French players should have to go back to play in France.

Done ok IMO, from a part time environment to full time super league and playing abroad is no mean feat. A good back up to Lunt and a step from Carlile. Doesn't shirk tackles despite his size, and decent ball from acting half back.

His attempt at a drop goal on monday gave me a giggle, when he was lining it up i just thought "what the hell is he doing?" turned out a pure masterstroke the penalty gained from it won us the game sign him up

Smashed Mickey Mouse his lauded opposite number in the Wigan game on his back who got up throwing his arms about and gave away a penalty. John just stood his ground.
The props target him but none so far have run over him. Built like a tank for a little fella.
Great distribution from the ruck. He can kick and make plays around the ruck but seems to be keeping it simple at the moment. For me another very astute buy. Chester knows a rugby player it appears.

Now that Elliot Whitehead has announced that he is going to Canberra in 2016 (to join Joshua Hodgson), Catalans may come knocking for Kevin Larroyer to replace him. Just speculation though.

Meanwhile Catalans have Ian Henderson and Eloi Pelissier as the two regular hookers, with Joan Guasch as an emergency replacement, so they won't likely come knocking for John Boudebza.

Nice try Rolfie. I'm more than happy with 7th at this stage of the season. Equally happy Hull are in the bottom 3, unfortunately as Wakey are so poor at the moment, my only disappointment is the fact you don't look like dropping much lower.

I'm happy with John being our second choice hooker to Lunt ......As his confidence grows I would like to see him scoot more often from acting half ......He has the potential to be a "Robbie Burrow"! .......Viva la France!
