Well I wont go through the full team Des. But one thing is for sure. We have the best hooker in the city now for sure. As good a player Houghton is, no way would I swap Hodgson for Houghton.

if you compare us man for man against both Cas and Widnes you'd think we had the better side but the table obviously doesn't reflect that.

Look, Rovers are not that far ahead of Hull, arguably both teams are of an equal nature but Rovers have more heart and cohesion.
As regards players, atm, not many.
You would maybe have shaul, Ellis, Houghton/Heremaia (interchange), Paea. Sadly, that might actually be it, at the moment.

I would take shaul and would have taken paea but we haven't really missed him and apart from the first 30 seconds on Saturday he didn't do much

Of all the FC players of late, I rate Houghton the most. I think he's ace. Also, comes across as a decent lad too. I wouldn't want to swap him for Josh, but I wouldn't be too beat up, if say we had Houghton and they had Josh. Both quality and the heartbeat of both sides.

I would still have Paea any day of the week, but not over Weyman. Paea to me, gives the impression he doesn't really want to play against us. I'd find a place for Westerman on this season's form.

My guess is when David Bishop, playing for Wales disclocated his finger, had it popped back in and carried on playing. Stevo had been calling him pre and during game and Bishop ended up having a great match and Stevo ate his words.

I wouldn't take Paea on his wages. Yes, he's a crowd pleaser with his barnstorming runs, go forward and quick PTB, but he's just not on the pitch long enough and doesn't perform consistently. Even on Saturday Clarke said Hull's forwards would get over us, but they didn't because ours simply work harder and smarter. Added to this the occasional flash of brilliance (J Walkers offload to Hodgson which led to the Burns break and Salter try) I think we're a stronger pack without him.

I'd take a fit Linehan and Westerman on current form. Think the jury is still out on Shaul, esp after the way he bottled the tackle on Gardner.

Good point above on how on paper both our squads look stronger than Cas & Widnes but that's not what the league table says...
