Got a text of a friend the other day to say that the bar prices have gone up YET AGAIN!!!! So that means we as a club will lose out to soccer sensation again as fans (and me) will be going in there for cheaper beer. I remember being in the lower league and the bar been full were you couldn't hardly move (without over inflated beer prices) but sadly unless our club sorts it out it will remain empty. Now if we have let another company run the bar then fair enough and tough luck to them, but if we do run the bar then WILL WE EVER LEARN???

we have a catering contract with a firm who does prett much most the events that happen in yorkshire. So whether Rovers have control of the prices I'm not sure.

Rovers get a fixed price from the caterers so doesn't really matter if everyone goes to soccer sensations

I'm sure it does we still take a percentage of every beer sold, Been mentioned by Mike Smith that fans going in soccer sensations pre match doesn't help the club at all.

Doubt we get a percentage of every beer sold, more likely their (the catering company) annual takings would be a bargaining chip for a better deal the following year.

If that was so why are they putting all the entertainment on to encourage people to attend earlier so they can generate more income from bar takings and catering ????

We do not get a fixed price we get about 20% of all taking from catering. So get buying your drink from the club as we get money (I know this won't happen and soccer sens will do even more of a trade on matchdays)

Correct, this is old ground that we've gone over before.

Old deal with the previous company was a fixed fee, it changed when CGC came to the table and we get a percentage of every pint sold now etc

The guy at soccer sensations told me they take between 5 and 7 grand a home game and if your right in what your saying it's down to rovers then to stop ripping fans off with high beer prices

That we can agree on, tends to be the same at all the event venues. Guess they think it's a captive audience yet Rovers lose out to soccer sensations by 75 grand at least looking at those figures.

I've heard free alcoholic drinks are to be given away, but only to the school kids in the South Stand.

There are not free drinks, we have a sponsorship deal with Fosters & Bacardi.

Not the cost or the quality of the beer that's been putting me off, it's the bloody queue's under the East stand. Several times I've been in there 15 mins or so without moving an inch towards the bar & just given up. Don't bother now.

You are better off using the bottle bar

Not if you don't want a bottle, however, safer option innit.

We usually go with a few friends to home games and nearly always go in the red L or soccer sensations beforehand, these places are nearly always full and usually because the beer is a lot cheaper and better imo.
However, this time we will be going to the ground early to sample the entertainment on offer and just maybe, it might be good enough to encourage us to do the same in future.
Having said that I cant help but think that rovers would be better served by offering cheaper beer prices in the future and thereby filling the bars well before kick off time.
I heard from someone yesterday that the robins nest had been extended to cater for more customers, i cant say I've heard this before so perhaps someone could clarify if true or not .

CGC set the prices and pay a fixed sum to Rovers for the privilege but Rovers do get a percentage of the profits for wet and dry.

How much are we talking? Cant remember from previous visits....and where is Soccer Sensations. Ive not noticed that before.

I appreciate all revenue is good, but I do think you lot over emphasis the amounts that can be generated via bars.

Pubs should be able to sell it cheaper, they buy more of it on a regular basis.

Just take your own beer in the ground.
