| Can see Sandercock going for definite, however, with the World Cup this year I cannot see McNamara being a likely replacement. Good, bad or indifferent, I can't see him doing it.
Thoughts?

| Fair call, he's a legend and would offer a decent chance I reckon. Though isn't he head coach for one of the World Cup sides too?

| Stan is Papua New Guinea Coach I think and he'd bring something to Rovers I believe.
I'm sure that ill be accused of trolling since I've commented here. However, I think Stan the man is definitely committed and would bring some real motivation to Rovers.

| Be suprised if it wasn't James Webster, he certainly improved hull under Agar.
Think he will make an excellent head coach.

He's been around a good while now, so he could be in the running and not attached to any other venture, so will offer 100%, plus he knows the club as well as a couple of other clubs.

Tho he's not advanced enough in the coaching ranks yet; definite good prospect in the future, but would he be ready now?

He would slip straight into place, hopefully with great respect of players old and new. As well as the back room staff.

| Decision was made to not renew sandys deal a while ago imo and as for the rumours re the new guy that's all they are rumours, deffo wont be Steve MaC.
Adrian Lam is PNG coach afaik not Stan, I wouldn't give the job to either.
Rather Webster or Seibs but Seibs is a bit young into coaching as yet, maybe in another 6 years.

Honestly, I wasn't 100% about Stan and PNG coach, so thank you for clearing that up.
I'm sure whoever is the prospective new coach, they will hopefully fit the bill for Rovers.

Seems inevitable.
Looking like the fans choice would be James Webster. All will become apparent sooner rather than later hopefully.

| Get the little Ginner back to his spiritual home. He has a 9 from 10 record from 2005 and clearly has the intellegence to learn. I think James has a bright future in the game and he would look good in R&W once more.
As for Sandy, don't let the door hit your 'arris on the way out. I'm sure he's a nice bloke, but it doesn't mean he can coach.

I hope not and very much doubt he would be considered.
Personally i dont believe it will be either of the afore mentioned personel that will be given the position, assuming of course that Sandercock is relieved of his duties, at least not for the longer term anyway, though its possible that one of them could be given it in the short term before becoming the assistant to whoever takes up the position of new permenant coach of Hull Kingston Rovers .

Got to be James Webster for me if Sandy doesn't stay.
I regard Webster as having a 100% coaching record of 9/9 for us.
He was absent all week of the Oldham game with a bad case of the flu, didn't do any coaching and was too ill to play in the game. He did turn up at Oldham but looked like death warmed up he really wasn't well.
Either way he has a 100% record as player-coach.
Webbo still turns up at CP he had his lad on his shoulders wearing a Rovers shirt the other week. He's still a Rovers legend and would be warmly welcomed back I'm sure.

| I feel a bit sorry for Sandercock, tbh. IMO there have been some mixed messages as to building longer term vs delivering immediately. That said, he's never really managed to get in credit. Signed too many talented but flakey players perhaps, and the rate we concede points is alarming and depressing. We've 6 wins from 14, which isn't bad, but it isn't good either and a couple of the defeats will go down in infamy.
I'd have given him the next 3 before sharpening the knives, but there's no point letting it bleed on now. He needs results, starting with Wakefield.
Until investment is confirmed, I'd assume it'd be Chester as caretaker and see how he goes. StT's suggestion of Kieron Purtell (sp?), last time CS was wobbling, was a good one I thought. Just depends on who is calling the shot and how much cash they have, I guess.

You are right about the mixed messages. Last year Neil Hudgell stated in his programme notes that as fans we needed to be prepared for the team to take one step back in order to take two forward while we blooded some youngsters. He accepted himself that some may have to play before they are really ready.
After the next 3 games there is a chance that we could be in 8th position after more than half the season gone and plenty of youngsters given game time. How many of us would have taken that at the beginning of the season? All of us I suspect.
Would be harsh to relieve Craig Sandercock of his position on that basis. Personally, I think the decision has already been made not to renew his deal and it will be brought forward if we lose the next 2 games. Chester and Gene in charge I would imagine until the end of season.
