| It is interesting, the reality of running a RL club and provides context for fans complaining about administrative issues and lack of marketing etc.
If I have read correctly, it says the team is delivering the same-ish as Morgan on a much less resources, but Rovers are only £100k off the cap according to Hudgell? The other thing that's still not clear is what the £750,000 the stand delay of 6 months has cost is. If it was sponsorship of the stand, £750k cash down up front seems an unbelievable amount. A catering deal was referenced at one point I think. Just seems astronomical in the context of a mid table SL club.
Good to hear investors coming forward though.

I see Ken Davy is concerned about his club too...
www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield- ... -33145650/
Cas are struggling and there were strong rumours that the owner of Widnes wanted to sell at one point not long ago. Hughes can't keep propping up London indefinitely, you'd have thought - at least Moran and McManus get some bang for their buck.
New Bradford's crowds have been so-so. Worrying times for the game in general, as well as Rovers in particular.
If somebody does pump in some money, the relative weakness of so many of our rivals does make the path towards the top easier at least. The game was on its last time we were at the top, and it was no less of a club golden era for that.
Or it could go the other way.

Why would an FC supporter want to start a topic on a Rovers fans forum?
Mischief making?
Or Rover's obsessive?
I'm saying both with more weight on the latter

On the SC point you picked up on Mrs B, there does seem to be conflicting and contradictory messages. I have to say I cannot see the current squad touching the figure NH stated. I was told, in the heat of the moment, NH included transfer fees and other related costs but who knows, when NH goes off on one of his tantrums he is certainly prone to making head scratching comments.
On the second point, the £750k losses we keep hearing about, it is partly loss of sponsorship (for this season) and the rest is lost revenues re gate receipts and hospitality. The major loss will be the derby match.

| WHY would anybody buy a club that owes it owners about £2.5 million ( to be repaid obv) and loses £450,000pa ? If lifelong fans and businessmen like Crossland can't rescue it then WHO can ?

I doubt that debt will be repaid - almost certainly not in full, anyway.
As to reasons - hope of sporting glory, innit? See also McManus, Davy, Koukash and any number of rich blokes in football and RU.
Figures for 2011 show Saracens lost £5.6m and at least 5 RU premiership clubs lost more than £1.5m. We only seem unusually basket case-ish because it was a handy stick for you to beat us with when you were reporting profits and we were winning most of the derbies and finishing above you. 'You' just started to believe your own trolling. Our weakness is the weakness of the sport as a whole, and indeed pro sport in general. Our strength is a dream of glory, and if we secure 'investment' it isn't implausible. We don't offer the prospect of profits, but we could offer the chance of silverware and excitement and kudos.

It'd take a fair bit of spending, but why not? Rhetorical question.
We actually have a decent foundation to build from in relative terms.

| If Rovers are in the mire then there will be a lot more clubs in a bad way,If the 10K crowds that Hudgel said we need to break even for us is corect & a fair few other clubs will be gone as well then who will the big boys play? We need the derby match & I expect that our freinds accross the city use the extra funds it brings to pay a few staff. I would be very interested to find out how Leeds always make a profit (now they dont get money from the cricket) as it would be the model for our clubs.

Even though their crowds are down a bit, like most others, they still often get over 15k to games. Plus they possibly own their stadium, iirc (which I might not). Only one team can win SL each year, which helps them and can clearly only be potentially emulated by one club at a time.

| The North stand delay costing us in the region of £750K was a mixture of lost revenue from the stand and a lost upfront contract payment from brewers/caterers if im not mistaken(as i mostly am)

| The constant supply of negative information is just softening you up for when NH and RC leave. They don't want to be cast as villains like the guys at Bulls etc
It's a bit like the Weapons of Mass destruction stories in Iraq before we invaded (made up to fool a world).
My money is on a joint venture with AP as in a Merger

They won't fund us beyond this season (at least alone) - it is out in the open.
The Bulls were run into the ground and left with nowhere to go, their fans and the game at large misled. We know where we stand.
I'm not seeing any obvious paralells with WMD situation.

| Something doesn't add up here, Smith is pleading poverty but taking more new players on loan when you have Caro unutilised.
£750k upfront relating to a 12 month period represents £58k per match day. Catering profit margin of 10% would mean £580k income per match day just for the investment to wash its face, so every punter would need to spend £58 each every game. I'm blagging it, of course, but struggle to see Rovers attracting investment of this size to win a contract for pies and lager for 13 afternoons. In any case, if it were so certain, it would simply be deferred for a few months rather than lost altogether. I guess it will be part of the negotiation and an attractive carrot for the next owner to receive a golden hello of this size. The derby gate thing is small fry in this context. A sellout would yield max £47k.

It won't relate to a 12 month period. It is a cashflow issue rather than a per annum P&L deal. We're not pleading poverty, we're saying we want/need to structure the club differently after this year - one way or another. I know the internet is great for conspiracy theories, but when what is out there makes perfect rational sense, the 'as stated alternative' has to be the default. it is exactly what it looks like, imo.

The £750k loss on the delay in the north stand, is at best, an =#FF0000AUP 1.2, libel. I would love someone to prove how this is calculated.
