Well after attending the forum last night the most pleasing thing i noticed was how much more relaxed our head coach was,he was cracking jokes and looked a lot more comfortable than he did all of his first year.
I have been one of his worst critics regarding his morose persona and that he needed to lighten up a lot. I dont doubt his rugby knowledge one bit and he seems to be doing a great job improving the young lads,lets have a great start and then sign Craig up for another couple of years.

I've got a novel idea, let's see how his team performs and what results they get and if they're deemed to be satisfactory, then extend his contract.

The public/press speaking is obviously a part of the job he wasn't comfortable with at first, but he's got a years experience as a first team coach under his belt now, so hopefully it should come a little easier to him, not altogether sure I'd go for a contract extension just on the strength of that though.

Strange really, in Australia they're coached on talking to the press and taught how to present themselves in public. You'd think he'd have received some of this. I know he was only an assistant coach but he was still working with players. Seems odd.

On the flip side, talk to him about rugby away from the cameras and he's very passionate and proud. Perhaps just shy and coming out of his shell.

I've noticed that too, he was doing his post match interview in the HP last year, usual wooden affair, the microphone was acting up, while they were fixing it someone at the front of the stage asked him how Dobbo was doing with the injury he was out with at the time. As you say when he answered this he was like a completely different person, relaxed, open, enthusiastic, obviously not comfortable with the public side of it.
It's a shame that this seems to be a stick for his doubters to beat him with, because I really think he has got us heading in the right direction, and hope he does stay with us long enough to see it through.

I don't care what he is like in the public eye, just do the job he is getting paid for, and do it right and he can stay for me

I haven't heard it, or if I have I didn't notice. I'll probably like it, I generally like nutters and the East Stand is a fertile hunting ground.

What nobody seems to observe or realise is the guy Sandercock is working with limited resources , Im sure he is a good coach and given time and more money will get better out of our youngsters . I think he is on a hiding to nothing so the best response is to get behind him and the guys on the pitch . After all is said its up to the guys on the pitch to deliver and the most important thing for him to do is to motivate and enforce rules and if a player is lazy then to kick his backside.

I think WE all realise that hes working with limited resources, but with the resources he had last season he should still have made the top 8 IMO.
