Aye - especially if we're not able/looking to get Laithwaite long-term and Taylor is sold. Under contract though and I'm not sure that Wakey would release him if he's playing that well with any regularity.

Out of contract at Wakey at the end of the season. Playing for a new contract,hopefully we'll keep him.

When he signed his contract at Wakefield last year it was reported that it was until the end of next season however in the RL papers yesterday agar said he is out of contract end of this season

When we were rumoured to be having another look at him in pre-season, he was alleged to be under contract until the end of 2013.

The problem with Frankie is that everyone knows he is a die hard red, therefore they seem to think he'll accept a pittance to play for us because of "his love for the club". This is what bit us last time when he left. I can see the same happening again.

On the other hand, he was very much on the fringes and moving to Wakefield made sporting sense as well as maybe financial.
He'd be an option to take a shirt in the high teens, but we've got other players coming through who might offer more in the medium term. At 25, he's unlikely to improve dramatically. Only played 8 games in 2012 according to the SL site (9 assuming it needs updating from last night). I like him as a player, I'd welcome his return but it'd have to be on sensible money.

On the last Mariano thread from a month ago I'd added that Rovers had offered a contract to Frankie. It wasn't as much as he's on at Wakefield so he was waiting on seeing what Wakefield where offering before making a decision. Rovers seem to be offering everyone less then other clubs are willing to pay so I'd guess at Frankie staying at the Wildcats.

Not a signing thats going to make us significantly better if we get him, or be majorly disappointing if we dont get him. On a cheap wage he would be a decent squad player. But do we really need them, I'd rather just give the youngsters more of a chance

Frankie,s agent has asked wakefield and been given permission to talk to other clubs. Wakefield are still unsure on next seasons signings and thats why they have let his agent do it.
