In the 1st half I'd have agreed with you however at the end of the game he'd played a brilliant 2nd half and contributed massively to our victory. That plus his barnstorming game against Castleford two weeks ago makes me think he has massive potential.

| From the 1st half performance I agree with you. He had a better 2nd half but not enough to redeem himself.

| I hope that he got a massive boot up his 'arris at half time, cos he was bobbins in the 1st half. 2nd half was close to MOTM, such was the change.

| Cos' we won and he did alright (in the end) - perhaps the wrong time to judge him
That pass near the end sums up Mika.

| People tend to forget that he's only 22 and just moved to t'other side of the world. We cut our own kids no end of slack at that age, so why not accept his inconsistency is part of his leaning curve?

| Apologies if i've got this wrong but I seem to remember roopy telling us that Mika himself thinks he should be a stand off. At times he seems to try and prove this when he should be just knuckling down and doing what's required of him in the position he is currently being picked to play in. I still think he can come good for us more consistently though given time

| He's very hit and miss to say the least. Lazy 1st half but picked up 2nd.

I think you should be more specific, who are you referring to?

| The slagging off of Clint Newton was because when it was announced he was going, he didn't seem to put any effort in.

| Nobody I know doubted Newton's ability, he just wanted out cos his mate was leaving. Newton was 26 when he signed and had a winners ring still shining from the previous season in the NRL. Im sure this was reflected in his salary.
Mika is a 22 year old prospect with lots to prove. Again, Im sure this is reflected in his pay packet.

Due to not having a Mrs Barista style database of quotes I can't furnish you with a list of names, but All I'm saying is Mika makes a demotivated, uninterested Newton look like a frepping world beater.

| Sometimes I am shocked at the stupidity of some Rovers fans this is certainly one such occasion.
Mika struggled a bit first half, yes. But his 2nd half performance was pure class. No way could Rovers have won the game without his massive contribution.
He produced an offload to Graeme Horne which didn't look possible , try on a plate but Horne spilled it. Not put off he did the same trick and credit to Horne he collected second time , passed to Latus and this time, try. Short kick off from Wire when it got to desperation time, who flung his body where it hurts - Mika.
Quite simply Mika was the catalyst for the teams stunning fightback
People get a grip. Mika is a huge talent, encourage him. Too late people now see that McDonnell is quality, for goodness sake don't make the same mistake again.

Struggled a bit first half? Bag of =#FF0000Edit-AS would be nearer the truth, and as far as his marvellous offloads go, what about the ridiculously risky one he chucked out in the dying minutes when at just 1 point in front all we needed to do was value possession. The kid can hardly run he's so heavy and several times today was either too slow or lazy to chase back and tackle, often after his own mistakes. Sorry but not fit to lace Newtons boots.

| Con Mika reminds me of Willie Manu when he first signed for FC; flashes of brilliance but green around the edges. It took Manu a number of years to mature (come out of his shell) but he improved every season and thats how I see Con's development.
Don't forget this is Con's first season in the top flight as a first choice player. Thats quite a leap from where he was at last season. Con has shown glimpses of what he can do (when his confidence is high) but he struggles without support. He is also being asked to play on Rovers problem right-side which has been missing Blake, Jake and to some extent Ryan O'hara, plus Scott Murrell hasn't been firing until the last 3 or 4 games.
I think yesterday (in the 2nd half) was the first time I have seen him take his role by the scuff of the neck and show us what he is all about. Whatever Sandercock said to him I suggest he puts it on tape and plays it to Con before every game because it worked.
Perhaps its a case of self-belief? Con is very quiet (shy) and 'inward' with some very big characters around him. I think he stamped himself on the squad yesterday and now he needs to use that as his own benchmark.
As others on here have said, lets cut him some slack, and please stop comparing him with Newts

| He played the first 40 without a break and was dreadful
In the second half he played two 15 minute spells with a ten minute break inbetween and was much more effective
