Thought Paea was unlucky not to get MOTM today, he was 1st class against a strong Cas pack. Thought Mika has his best game for us today, really was a handfull, and if Dobbo/Withers/Hodgeson and McDonnell could stay near him in the tackle the offload game would be a big asset. Everytime Paea takes the ball he is a 4 man job. Lovegrove is a warrior in both attack and defence, nothing fancy just solid hard graft. Galea, what can you say! fantastic break today, will be a sad day when he leaves. Taylor is Mr Consistant at the mo and Clinton, looked like a new player, taking it in hard and quick play the balls caused Cas problems. O`Hara looks the buisiness, and will gain us lots of meters will fill the hole Vella left no problem. Hodgeson has carried his early season form on and Withers is class, you can tell he`s played in the NRL for a long time.
This leaves us with Horne, Cox, Netherton, Watts, Green in reserve. Not bad to say we have had to bear with Gannon, Mills, Ward, Crossman on seasons gone.

Agree our forwards were awesome today sum of the tries scored from set plays were first class just hope they can continue with this week in week out.

An impressive display today, although i thought cas looked a bit lightweight and once our pack got on top (which was virtually from tackle one) they found us impossible to compete with. Chase and orr missing may have contributed to a lack of attacking options for them, but neither are the best defensive players. Season turning game...not convinced. Good not to concede as many penalties as we have been doing, and it was a good 80 min performance, but it was,nt the best cas side, but you can only play whats in front of you. Next game might be an indicator.

Correct. A simple glance at the league table tells you where we are. With the exception of Huddersfield, all our wins have come against teams below us currently. Also, with the exception of Cas away, all our defeats have come against teams currently above us. The table doesn't lie.

If the pack put in a shift against a higher ranked team, then I will have a little faith. Using Cas as a doormat won't fool me.

When our pack stay disciplined early on in games they see enough of the ball to wear other team's forwards down. Sadly this has only happened rarely this season (Hudds @ home).

One notable omission from the squad today was Liam Watts; a player who has been one of the worst culprits for ill-discipline. Perhaps CS has finally taken action by dropping him and today the team could execute the game plan without ill discipline creeping into the game early on???

One swallow doesn't make a summer but my oh my Rovers forwards set the benchmark today. Crunch time next week against the 'old enemy', when it counts the most, so the challenge is to go up another notch. Can they do it? Yeh, no probs!
