I had us down for 8points going into easter, wasnt far off. Bearing in mind everyone thinks were playing below par im fairly confident we can turn this around and turn the 2nd half of the season well in our favour. |

I think people are dissapointed bacause in a couple of games we have thrown away winning leads of over 10 points, we could easily have been on 11 points and in 6th place if we had closed those games out.

Con Mika has been disappointing in all areas recently.
Needs to up his game IMO.
24 missed tackles in his 8 games so far, and he's being spelled too.
I know stats aren't everything and it's a bit harsh comparing him to Newton, but he only missed 22 tackles last year and was an 80mins larker most of the time.

Obviously everybody misses tackles, but i dont think that making more gives you more of a right to miss them than anyone else. If he's missing them because of fatigue due to the defence he is being asked to do then the coach is partly to blame as well as he shouldnt be playing the full 80 as what is effectively a defensive workhorse if he is missing a lot of tackles. Either give him a break, or give someone else his defensive role for a period of the game to even it up |

Comparing last year's team stats to this, is a bit misleading. Given our change from compressed down the middle tactics last year to this years, more spread approach. None the less, we conceded too many soft tries last year and are conceding too many soft tries this year - so neither approach worked/working.
I guess we need to work more on Plan C which should involve looking after possession better and have more control of the games. Under JM we did this very effectively and a lot of the times, we saw games out when we were in winning positions in the second stevo stanza. We ground teams down if you like. Under CS we do look like we're trying to score from every attacking opportunity and force unnecessary plays. Maybe if we adopt JM's favourite "build the frepping pressure" approach, we can get more control during these tight games and hopefully see them out better. |

You can't win if you can't tackle, I'm pretty sure we were high up in the missed tackles last season too. Maybe our players just have bad tackling technique.

Who supplies these stats? Defence needs a lot of work admittedly but 7 in the top 20 missed tackles? Widnes have 2 of the top 20, Cas 0, Salford 1 & Bradford 2, all have let in more points than we have...& 8 assists for Dobson? Was that just vs Huddersfield? I'd read these with a large pinch of salt.

Prior to the arrival of Sandercock, our defence was poor, albeit in a different sense. Our lads are now learning new structures and added to that there are players missing that'll have been worked into the structures in pre-season, this hinders training somewhat in the sense that numbers are lower and it's much harder to try out routines and structures without the correct numbers at training. Given time I'm sure Sandy'll have the lads doing what he wants and we'll all have to be patient and wait for the tree bearing fruit.
We're growing a Sandercock Tree and the Cock fruit tastes good.
