All the indications are that McDonnell has signed and is awaiting a Visa. However, i heard a whisper over the weekend that Rovers have made a move for Corey Paterson. I guess that would mean that one of our rumoured Aussie signings isnt coming, unless we have finally managed to shift Joel Clinton.

Good player but I'd stay well clear.

To be honest i had never heard of him until i was given his name at weekend and googled him. He is in a 2 year deal at the Cowboys so there is probably nothing in it.

He's also 'friends' with Khoder Nasser, was rumoured that's why Bennett got rid.

Corey is a great player and a very nice guy, but he comes with a lot of 'issues'.

He sat out a good part of a season at the Knights with clinical depression and had a lot of trouble controlling his weight afterwards due to medication side effects.
Since then he has converted to Islam, got married and stopped drinking, which i think allows him to control his depression without drugs, or maybe with minimal drugs.

There's no one in a better position to know if he has some good footy in him than Sandercock. He is a rep standard forward for peanuts if his head is right.

In the sports news at 1pm on Radio Humberside yesterday it carried a short statement from Rovers which said that until the legal contractual arrangements where sorted out with Talapapa's advisors regarding his contract termination, no statement would be made regarding the signing of Shannon MacDonnell.
This also puts a question mark over the quota places, if we have to offload Missi first before registering Shannon, it puts doubt over us signing Mika.

Rovers have 'settled' the Taulapapa situation (he confirms it on facebook) so Shannon McDonnell will be announced shortly. According to the girls in the Rovers shop on Holderness Road, there's another signing in the pipeline but (for a change lol) they wouldnt offer a name (even after I reeled off 4 or 5 I have heard rumours about). All they would say is Justin tried to bring him to the club last year.

Personally, I don't think Rovers need any more players and should go with what is in place now.

However. . .that depends on who the player is. Until the rumours start to take on more substance I will take it with a pinch of salt, even though the girls have proven to be a good source of info in the past.
