Back five completed, and its good to see representation from the pre Super League days, but obviously the players who have represented us so well in the top flight dominate.
Now on to the halves, and for me one of the most difficult choices.
At stand off we have some very good candidates. Heres my favourites:
Paul Mansson - Still argubly one of the classiest players i've ever seen in a Rovers shirt. Oozed natural ability and could carve defences up at will. A real shame he came to us in the "twilight" of his career.
Scott Murrell - Came as a stand off and performed brilliantly in NL1 to help get us promoted and has now developed into a fine player.
Stanley Gene - Ive included Stan, as he played the majority of his games between 96 and 2000 at stand off for us and became a cult hero and legend. However I think this status was cemented by his return in SL and he could find a spot in the team in a different position.
My choice will be Paul Mansson. The best player never to play Super League.

| Cooke. Even though he has not shone as bright as we might like, he is still the best over the last decade by a mile. Mansson was good, but would not have given us anything at this level.

| Cooke, made the difference between relegation and survival towards the end of our first Super League season in 2007.

| Definitely, 10000% Paul Mansson. Quality player, my favourite ever rovers player, and for what its worth, I would have Paul Mansson in his prime over Paul Cooke in his prime any day of the week.

Neither were or are good enough to lace Steve Hartleys boots in his prime.

I think a certain Mr Millward would have to say something about that.

Exactly, the other players knew what was coming but had no chance of stopping it

| Mansson was always a thorn in our side prior to signing for us , either scoring or setting up tries.
As stated earlier Cookie did really help us to stay up in that first SL.
I'll go for Mansson though , because he was a joy to watch.

| I've gone for Mansson; absolute class. I was one of Cooke's biggest fans; but for one reason or another he's not been 100% in a Rover's shirt. Scotty alway's gives 100% and has never let Rovers down.

| Murrell, good player in this position at NL level, commitment can't be questioned, not enough pace for SL.
Cooke, great at Hull, fairly average for us with the odd flash of what he can do for whatever reason endlessly debated across these boards.
Mansson, quality player, dragged some very average players to some good performances. Excellent reader of the game. Gets my vote.
