| With the good news that the World Cup is coming to our shores in 2013 would it be an idea for Rovers to try and host a game? Now before all the Hull fans tell me we have the worst stand in the entire world at our stadium, im thinking more of what Craven Park could be like in 2013, we could easily have increased the capacity by then and have a better road infrastructure. Now im not by any means saying we should host one of the top games with England, Australia or New Zealand but if we could host a group game between some of the smaller nations I think it would be great for the East Hull community.

Would 10,00 go to watch a game like Samoa v PNG though? this is my point, a smaller ground for a smaller fixture and give the clubs with smaller grounds a chance to be involved in the event.

He didn't even read your original post, he's far too "sofistyicated" for that.

| I dont see why not but.....did you get a point in the franchises for the stadium being able to host an International game? Or something like that? Would be a bit hypocritical to not give you a point for it and then host a game there

The point was not for being able to host any international. Come the WC in 2013 I doubt CP will resemble what it does today and should be more than suitable for a PNG v Samoa game. Putting bias aside for a moment (if you can), do you think a PNG v Samoa game at CP would be better than one being held at any other of the smaller grounds, I doubt 1,000 would turn up at Wakey or Quins, I am sure more Rovers (and FC fans who are not as bigotted) would support such a fixture.

Did you miss the part in my other reply when I said "I dont see why not?" I wasn't having a go about CP at all, I actually think its quite a tidy stadium apart from the South stand.

Yes, that why I tried to clarify what the point was awarded for.
The south stand is terrible, no-one in their right minds would say otherwise, but so is Odsal and Wakey, did it stop lots of you lot going to the Boulevard (which was the worst stadium in RL).
Being old school, I still go for the rugby, not the beer, pies or any other peripheral parts attached to match days.

Jesus Wept. It's not about the surroundings or not having a roof or the state of the terrace blah blah blah its about being able to actually watch the game. No matter how crap every other ground is in SL we still go because surprise surprise we can actually see the game which is the whole point of going. Are you seriously using the fact we go to other crap grounds in big numbers as a reason why we didnt fill the South stand?

Forgive me if my eyesight is failing, but the majority of empty places were in the NORTH, which is seated and is as good a view as any other ground of similar size from behind the sticks. If its about the view, why not sit in the North.
make your minds up FFS, is it the view, the cost, dont want to give money to Rovers, the weather (oh, wait it was July ), the bus service, car parking, beer, pies or toilets. Or was it simply, you couldn't be d supporting your team through another defeat to Rovers.

Silly me I thought we were allocated the South Stand. That selective reading syndrome really is a serious problem in East Hull Just to clarify, it was reported in the local press that only 100 seats were still available in the North stand, would you risk turning up on the off chance some of the tickets were still available? Your website claimed the game was sure to be a sellout so why would Hull fans think they could get tickets for other areas of the ground? Oh yes I know because loads of your fans were watching the game in the pubs despite it being a HOME fixture.
All of this will be completely ignored by super fan I'm sure

at least we could accomodate a game without having to ask that of football chairman! as the world cup takes place in the off season for rugby which happens to be football season, i reckon it would be worth a punt for a PNG game!

Some of the stadiums used in Australia where not "Super stadiums" and why would it give a terrible image? you haven't thought this one through at all, its just an attempt at a dig. Does the Super leauge stadia give an overall terrible view of our game?

SO, that would be why you would not expect a world cup match to be played there! And Not because were "biggots" or "Biased" or any other name calling you can come up with. And just to keep you up to date The boulevards reign as a rugby league venue end over a decade ago, typical of a rovers supporter to dwell on the past! Id take odsel over C.P any day.
With a STADIUM of the K.C caliber, as a city "we" should be thankful that it more likely would be the venue of choice.

The game is lauded in other parts of the country as been behind the times and been a lesser sport, could you imagine a RU or a soccer game been played at a place like CP? It's god awful ground and if our country can't provide better stadiums than yours we don't deserve to host it.

So what you want to do is host all the games at 25,000 - 90, 000 stadiums like the K.C, D.W, and Wembley, and when its a game between the small nations just have 2000 people there with no atmosphere?
and in 2013 who is to say that C.P will not have been improved?

No, what I want is for us not to show off the worst bits about RL.
