| I thought it was a great game last night given the terrible conditions and standing water just below the surface of the pitch. The skill levels were high from both sides but from a Rovers perspective I thought our players were superb especially given our patchy form.
The first half was nigh on perfect, the kicking game spot on and we kept Leeds very quiet. Our defence was great and all the players need congratulating on a fantastic effort.
In the second half, two things swung the game Leeds way. Firstly, our pressure on their line at the start of the second half was good, but only two points to show for it was scant reward. Secondly after surviving nearly four consecutive sets on our own line, to cough the ball back up on the first tackle ultimately cost us as they scored off the next set and the rest is history.
IMO, the HKR MOTM was Cockayne. I don't think we ever need worry if Briscoe is injured. On last night's effort, we didn't miss him at all. (and that is not a derogatory comment in the slightest), just for once we have real strength in depth in that position.
