The only defence I can think of for the VR is that he thought the ball went directly to ground off Fox without touching Richards hands, and then Richards touched down.

If wigan had turned their possetion into points they would be out of sight.
We are playing exactly how we have been, Thankfully wigan are a mile off the boil or we would have been buried already.
I will say this though if we keep giving Wigan the room we are on their left flank Richards will get a bloody hatfull.

I think you'll find that most non-Wigan fans clearly saw daylight between Richards' hands and the ball, which in everyone's view bar that of Thaler is a knock on and not a try. Terrible call.
