| For a while it was like watching the recent Halifax game again.
First 25 minutes we were DIRE.
Our starting front row were bloody awful. Walker was ponderous and predictable. Lunt repeatedly chose the wrong option in his opening stint . Allgood was an unfit, slow, penalty machine who was flappy in the tackle and had zero line speed. Allgood's second spell was no better. I've seen Tilse take some stick on here, but he hasn't put in a shift as crap as Allgood and Walker did today so I would hope to see some redress and perspective going forward from my fellow forumsters in support of Tilse.
The game changed when our bench came on. 2 X JG were both very good at prop, Boudebza was urgent and direct and my MOM again and Donaldson ran him a close second. Really happy for Kieran Dixon as well. He has stepped out on his path to redemption. Sio also good at fullback. Chisholm average, Marsh anonymous.
All in all very scratchy and tough on Wakey who deserved more. Still a win is a win and I'm happy and my blood pressure is finally back to normal.
4 from 4. In this form, how is this possible?

| I thought Donaldson was average today he's never going to break the line but his tackling usually makes up for it but today he was getting knocked off in the tackle all the time he's to small

Agree with almost all,why donaldson dosn't get more game time I dont know,as you say him and boudebza quickened it up.Ive seen marsh three times now and iam afraid not quite good enough, and greg burke is a waste of a shirt imo.Good result tired performance.

Sorry Frankie but really got to disagree here, mate.
Donaldson and Boudebza in the last 3 games (Wembley included) have given us 2 key elements, namely speed and urgency.
Donno like today often does get knocked over, but always gets up quick for a fast ptb. He is the quickest of all our forwards in this regard. He breaks the line too. He and French John have the best tackle technique. Go low and take their legs. I always feel we are playing at the right tempo as a team, when these guys are on the pitch.

| Agree about Allgood as well, always messing about at the play of the ball, mainly cos he lost the collision.

| Stop with the French John.
I like Donaldson a lot, he runs really intelligent lines at first receiver, however I also agree he's too small.
I just can't find a position for him, six years ago I'd have said he was a centre, he does inject a lot of energy.
Boudebza continues to be a great foil to Lunt, works so hard and gives us an excellent boost when he comes on. His defence is Ben Fisheresque, chops them down. Very, very good around the ruck.

I sort of agree with Sandra on that I can't find a position for him to small to be a forward he sort of plays like a hooker with little darting runs and his energy problem is he's not he's a second row if he was six inches taller and four stone heavier hed be a world beater

Donno played a few games at hooker for bradford and I think thats probably his best position, tons of effort.

I agree with most of that, I can't work out why Walker seems to want to find his back rather than his front in tackles, he goes in backwards all the time making it simple for the defender to control the ruck, we need forwards who are going down on the front and up quickly to get the pack on a roll. Boudebza's injection of pace came from playing his stint off the back of the 2 JG's finding the front.
I actually think Tilse gets a quickish play the ball at the expense of a couple of yards when he's playing well.
The other thing is why dont we support the man with the ball, Green barged through a couple of times and never mind no one being on his shoulder, there was no one waiting for the next ptb and the go forward petered out.

I think with what i so when watching the game on sky extra i think that green who did not play last week at wembley was a lot fitter then the rest of the team and the team who were knacked failed to keep up with him

For me and quite a few others judging by previous comments, fitness has been a problem all season, we don't look fit enough full stop.
Hopefully next season with a rumoured new backroom team on board this is something that will be resolved.

| In principle I agree that we could be a lot fitter, but let's not forget that Wakefield were always going to be the fresher side. Although we have had the fortune to rotate certain players recently, Wakefield have had the luxury of not competing for the last few months, plus they've also added new recruits to bolster their squad now as well. We haven't had a week off since the pointless week that was the WC challenge series. Let's also not forget that Wakefield went into the last 12-13 mins having used all their interchanges.
The four J's from the bench gave us the lift we so badly needed. I thought James Greenwood went very well. Allgood, Walker, Burke ... not so much.
Somewhat fortunate to win, but you take what you get.

So do I, having said that the people I heard it from yesterday would suggest that it's more than just speculation.
Apparently Jamie Peacock has insisted that he brings his own backroom staff with him, we also heard yesterday that one member of the current staff has already been told that they can leave.

Surely the positions of fitness/conditioners would be Chester's choice, JP is coming in an administrative role

Well to be honest you would expect that to be the case wouldn't you?.
However, you would also expect him to be in charge of recruitment but according to some, it was Peacock who was responsible for bringing Thomas Minns from Leeds.
The information regarding the backroom staff was given to me by someone yesterday in the HP bar after the game, I also heard it from a couple other people who are usually in the know If you get my drift .
There were one or two other strong and quite exiting rumours knocking about regarding the stadium, recruitment and sponsorship etc for next year but, I'll wait until there's a little bit more meat on the bone so to speak, before commenting on those, unless someone beats me to it of course.

You bloody tease. I bet when you were in your teens you used to tell all the women that you had a 12 inch dick just to keep them interested. I used to try that line, but refused to bend mine in half when they invariably called my bluff.

| I was in the HP bar after the game and was also told that JP had been visiting the club one day a week over the past few weeks and had submitted to the board a list of what he feels needs to be changed at the club. If they would not back him on his list then he would not be coming.
He has suggested certain changes and when questioned that some of them should be the decision of Chester but he supposedly said Chester's here to coach the team. He is there along with the back room staff to supply the players and backing for him to carry out the coaching duties to the best of his ability.
Let us hope that JP does come and sort the club out from top to bottom it has not moved on much since it has been in the Super league and unless things change we will always be also rans.
We have done well reaching Wembley and the supporters deserve more but unless there are changes within the club it will never happen.
I also heard that as long as we are in the super league there are 4 new players already lined up to join the club in 2016.
Let's hope the HP source bears fruit (excuse the pun)

| That chat thread died, and so did those mods, gladly, I now feel I have a license to post knackers where ever.
Had to move from Secret Hill Top Lair, it became compromised.
I foolishly released it's GPS coordinates.
Just cooked a bit of beef in New Lair (location will not be even jested at) massively over cooked. Terrible.
I post on other forums, might have to burn new lair down to cover my tracks from The Coordination.

The level of fitness of the players doesn't lie upon the back room staff, it lies upon the players themselves .....That is the difference between a team winning silverware and a team constantly falling short ......Trainers and conditioners can do all that they can, but if a player doesn't have the right mentality required to be in a silverware winning team then nothing will make them match fit week in and week out.
And to give the other point of view ......Because of our cup run the players haven't had a week off since the rugby season started .....Fatigue will undoubtedly play a part at this time of the year.

To a point I agree, players need the right mentality, not going out and getting hammered, eating the right food and generally keeping in good shape away from the club.
The training regimes the club employ can aid or hinder this. Training times, balance between cardio and weights, the pre and post match prep and physio. All these things will get you in the right shape at the precisely the right time and is to a great extent out of the players hands.
