| I thought that Scott Murrell played well against Wigan and would expect him to get first shot at the 6 shirt. It is a blow but it isnt the end of the world. It will reduce our creativity but judging by our first 2 performances we are going to spend more time trying to run over people than around them anyway.

| Quote ="Paul T - HKR". . .or even Scott Murrell? . . .okay, maybe not after the Wigan performance.
If true, I would go with Kristian Bell or Matty Beharrel but I think Sandercock has already told us he sees Withers as cover for the half backs.'"
Have you even watched the previous two friendlies? The two youngsters have struggled and neither have a kicking game to trouble a local amateur side let alone Leeds, Wigan, Saints and no disrespect but any Championship side.
Scotty played well at 7 against Wigan but has grown up playing 6 (two totally different positions), he has and can kick accurately and creatively. His passing game is usually spot on and while not boasting great speed he certainly can defend. Something Beharrel struggles with and Bell would find tough against SL opposition.
I think we need Withers around the ruck to speed the game up but as another option he could go in there as long as Murrell is playing 13 so we still have a second in-play kicker.

| Typical, you put a dream halfback combo together then 1 spends half of last season on sidelines this season the other!

I suggest you watch the Wigan match again on Hull Kr TV.
Don't you think it's rather a long way to travel(13,000 miles) for Kristian Bell or Matty Beharrel.

I heard from someone this afternoon that he may be out for between six and eight weeks, so as there is some discrepancy in the information we have both
been given, it may be a case of the situation been somewhat exaggerated, lets hope so.
Just seen the official statement after posting, dam!.

| Sounds serious. How do you develop a blood clot - I know you can get a DVT on a flight for example, but not something you hear about often as an RL injury as such. Is it just a spontaneous thing? Blooming bad luck if so.

| Not sure in this case, but its not a 1st at Rovers. David Luckwell had a bad one in his leg a few years ago, he was out ages and even when he did get back he was never the same player.

Most common cause is after an operation in the leg, my husband developed one after he had his cartridge trimmed in his knee (old rugby injury). He was on warfarin for 12 months and carried a card, the issue with the drug is that it thins the blood so if you are involved in an injury which involves blood loss you pose a higher risk. It thins the blood as the danger of a clot is it may reach the heart which is life threatening or the lungs.

" Being on warfarin increases the risk for bleeding. Therefore, contact sports and sports with a risk for serious injury, such as football, hockey, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, alpine skiing, or boxing should not be pursued by a person on warfarin. However, athletes such as runners, bicyclists or triathletes may be able to continue their sport" Sadly not sure you read the article correctly mate

| There are various other drugs that may be as effective and could get him on the field quicker. I am currently in pot and have blood thinners to take, but they are all short term effect. The main thing is to bust the clot and then look at whether it is the result of trauma or whether long term management is needed.
It's a tough thing to happen to someone who makes a living from contact sport.
