I cannot understand the 'rules' on this, they are so vague, it takes a thread with 100's of posts on the interpretation, without success.

Released by us and now released by Celtic - I'd rather give a kid a shot. Might be 'fed-trained', but'd still look like we're going for a cheap antipodean option.
Thing is we aren't short of [inumbers[/i at prop even now. Vella, Lovegrove, Wheeldon, Mills, Watts, Netherton and, at a push, Newton can play there. 7.
Our universal comparators have O'Meley, Moa, Cusack, Dowes, Lauaki and, at a push Radford. Assuming King is going to leave, that is just 6.
Tangata-Toa or similar would add depth, when what we want is quality and a bit of impact.

I wasn't advocating signing him, just responding to a sarcastic post from a Duller.

I'd be very surprised if we didnt sign Kyle Bibb. As from the other side of the world im not sure, but the Clinton rumour seems to be the strongest at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if the signing we WILL make though, is a bolter that no one has mentioned, due to them been under contract.

Borrowed from the ins and outs thread on the VT
Wakefield Wildcats
In: Millard (Canterbury), Newton, Morrison & Jeffries (Bradford); Tronc(NQC), Korkidas (Huddersfield loan);
Out: Snitch (Castleford), Wilkes (Quins), Drew (Huddersfield), Atkins (Warrington), Pitts (Leeds), Bibey (Leigh), Naughton, Brown (Featherstone), Rooney (Barrow) , Grix (Huddersfield), Winterstein (Celtic), Sculthorpe (Bradford), Martin (released);
2 props in, but 3 out at Wakefield. Would they be looking to offload another? We've got plenty so a swap deal might be possible - but the ones they are likely to want probably going to be the ones we'd prefer to keep.

I was thinking the same thing as he crashed over. However, his 4 game loan spell in 2006 wasn't extended due to his failure to settle outside France. I don't see him coming back to an English club anytime soon.
Big lad though, used to play centre as well

Was.
He has been playing front row almost exclusively at both Widnes & Wakefield.

| I'd actually be delighted if Martins came back. The only reason he didnt stay last time was because of something to do with his girlfriend not wanting to move to England. he subsequently split from her and ended up at Leigh.

They may be, its a risk as weve found out over the last season or so. If i were a rovers fan i'd be hoping that any overseas player was signed months ago and just not announced til after the 4 nations. Thats not a dig by thge way at rovers, thats the reality of signing overseas players in the current climate.

If its a 4 nations player, surely the fact that their playing here would mean they have one? Maybe to play, not to work?

clinton....good prop, good pro.....would be a good siging
tandy......rovers reject who has done well to get a jersey at the storm, but it wont go no further for him in the nrl......hence him looking overseas....would be a backward step for rovers in my opinion...

Nope, look at how Greg Bird managed to enter the country every other week despite being refused a visa to play for Bradford.

If he was employed in the UK to play for a UK team, how would that be 'not to work'?
The 4 Nations players who need visas to enter the UK will be here on limited visitors visas. They would need a full visa to stay here and be employed by a UK club. That process takes weeks or months, depending on how loaded the visa office in Canberra is at any time.
