If it was on a 2 year deal and on reasonable money then yes but this season has really hit home to me that being tempted by signing "big names" over 30 is just asking for trouble and thankfully my club have realised this at the back end of last year.

Must be a sad indictment of the rest of the comp if a current England international is deemed past his best.

Ellis is proving to be the same value as O'Hara & Gleeson. Unfortunately for Rovers, our 2 will be out far longer than Mr Ellis.

Jesus Jake nobody said Paterson or Tuimi were better than Ellis? They simply implied Ellis probably won't play HIS best rugby for FC which with his injury problems over the last 2 1/2 years is a fair statement. Though it must be added that when Ellis does come back and IF he gets a run of games he will probably be the best back rower in this league. As for yesterday's game yes Burns played brilliantly and we are a far better team with him in it, We actually look like we might defend a set in our own half when he plays. Our pack at home this season(Wigan apart) has been very impressive and considering the average age of it we should be confident for the future. Walker has been brilliant these past few weeks and there should be alot more to come from Green and Beaumont. We need a bit more consistency away from home and we should make the 8 and u never know in the cup!! Difference between our 2 and there 1 is there 1 is probably on twice as much as our 2 put together!!
