I read that the Twitter rumour was "from the forums". Does that make it more or less credible?

We've not had a Dobson leaving imminently story for a good, what, 3 months? He is exactly what Saints need though. As already referenced in this thread when he becomes available in 2014, there'll be plenty of clubs in the queue, so advisable to get a long contract extension in front of him sooner rather than later.

I was thinking about all our great half-back signings this afternoon and when you put each one into context, I'd have to say Paul Cooke was the most important signing of them all because had we not have signed him, then we would have been relegated, never to play top-flight rugby league ever again.

Paul Cooke is the biggest on the field influence why Hull Kingston Rovers is a top-flight rugby league club today and for this, he will always be a legend in my eyes...



If FC genuinely wanted to replace the void that has never been filled since Cooke left them to come to us, they should accept they were in the wrong and pay Doncaster a fee to try to get him back because he's only 31 and still has a good few years left in him I think.

He was Championship One player of the year last season and could get back in to shape with some full-time training Ginge.

He could still do a job in super league I think.

But FC won't admit they were in the wrong and would rather persevere with players like Richard Horne who is no where as good as Cooke.

Just be grateful I've mixed it up a bit. Only so many times Rovers HB pairing can be declared as in the top 3 in SL. We know.

As a serious point, I really would dispute the fact that Cooke saved us that season, I think the turning point was winning in France on Bastille Day 2007 and for that, we have to thank Stanley Gene.

Dobson is undoubtedly quality and the fact we've got a left handed and a right handed player should add to our options because we've been awfully one dimensional for a long time, even when we had Green (who is a hugely underrated player that is unsurprisingly going well at The Pies), I actually think that in the short term Burns's greatest asset will be his defence. We've had huge problems down that channel for a very long time, having said that, I think Liam Salter's reading of a situation also is a factor here. Good to see him score on Sunday, his defence could be more important than his go forward.
