No, I'll have a look. I saw the early bits of it.
I was actually thinking about that on the way into work this morning.
It's poor form of the teachers really, if you believe in what you do then surely teaching in a school in a deprived area (is it? I don't actually know that) you'd want the kids to have as good an education as possible to give them chances and options in life.
But then. I suppose taking the mick out of them is a bit easier than that. |

Well, the reports suggest that the school has just come out of special measures, so it doesn't paint a good picture. The school itself is in/around Garden Village, so it's not exactly the worst place in Hull. (school also got hit badly by the floods I recall)
Any teacher should know better than post stuff like they did on facebook - even in jest/banter. Once the media get wind of it, they're left on thin ice.
The sad reality is - I think for some people Holderness Road or Hessle Road is the border of their world(s). |

It might be difficult but it's certainly not impossible for a good motivated head teacher to turn a school on special measures into a decent one in a couple of years.
Garden Village is fine, I'd have thought that as soon as you started to progress you'd be getting kids and parents alike more interested in achievement. Ha, spelt that incorrectly to start!
I think some people have a tendency to be insular no matter where you are. I live down a valley and I know people who very rarely leave the valley. |

Love the part where he says they are giving their daughter and education because she is exposed to a different culture and way of life. I'm sure she saw a lot of true Spanish life and culture in some holiday resort hard pushed to meet any Spaniards in some of the holiday spots.

It's a couples thing, never been out with them before, not even met him. One of Ms. Terrorists mates.
Don't like that sort of thing, bound to say the wrong thing, don't like going out for dinner with people I don't know. With a bit of luck there'll be someone else I know in the restaurant and I'll go sit with them.
Bit tired as well, might fall asleep with my face in some soup, hope I don't drown.
T'other mates coming over tomorrow, with kids. Bet they get up about seven O'clock in the morning and want to watch Peppa Pig or summat.

It really bugs me, it's the same at the boy's school. At the start of each year a letter goes out stating if you wish to take your children out of school during term time for holidays, then you will be issued with a £50 fine. What's so difficult to understand? It's not rocket science.
My 2 missed 4 days of school earlier this year due to a family wedding in Cyprus, we didnt get fined as it wasn't 5 or more days. Next year they will miss 5 days as we are going away during term time. We will get a fine, but those are the rules, I won't complain. Plus the £50 fine is nothing compared to the £400 we saved booking during term time. |
