Exhausted, though. I've bought steak and the ingredients for a Caesar salad with a homemade anchovy dressing. Left it all in the kitchen for Mr Worm while I'm unwinding in front of the telly with the remote. Hurry up, Mr W, I'm hungry after that huge spend.

The one we've just got shot of was all leather. it was still in decent nick too - but we bought it when we'd just got our first place together and were skint. 3-seater seemed to offer best value but speaking to your left or right doesn't facilitate conversation. We'll probably find now (my armchair, her twisty chair and a 2 seater), that we don't like each other.

Life lesson - don't tear of the flame resistant tag, or at least don't lose it, or charity shops can't use your unwanted furniture.

My sofa and chair is leather and old and cracked. My husband has being lying on it for forty years (I scrounged it off his mum when she wanted to get rid) and hopefully will be for another forty years. A decent Chesterfield will last a lifetime and will avoid all these petty arguments.

Actually, it works fine. We have a strange shaped lounge and when we got Marcus (purveyor of all obscenities known to man) to make our stuff, he made me a made to measure sofa, I went up to the workshop for him to measure me. I don't sit on it now, I lounge on the big knoll sofa he made, and Ms. Terrorist languishes at the other end. We have an enormous armchair, Alice Through The Looking Glass stylee. No one ever sits on that.

What a miserable night. All my plans for nowt.

Mr Worm refused to compile dinner, wittering on about not going near the small tin on the table and threw the (rather nice) steak at the dog. He then took up residence on the sofa in the sitting room and tried to wrench the remote from my grasp. The beast.

Once I'd ejected him from the house I retired to Larkins bar for sustenance and inspiration for my new sig. They'd finished serving so I had to make do with tomato juice for dinner with a vodka in it. To rub insult into injury Mr Worm kept sending repeated texts from some ghastly hotel saying he'd settled nicely into their lounge and wasn't shifting from their made-to-measure sofa.

I rang him and told him he could shove the sofa up his Iestyn and get used to the lounge because he certainly wasn't returning to my sitting room tonight.

He then said he was going to "the toilet" and shouted the 'word' "toilet" really loudly down the phone.

I wouldn't mind, but the credit card bill's not due for another three weeks.

I'll have the onion rings, please. And the mushrooms and chips. I'm bluddy starving.

He is not too sure, there was talk of the merchant navy (he went to Trinity), also then he fancied Royal Marines, he appears to have moved away from these options (with maybe a tiny little bit of pressure

) he appears keen on Uni now, he said he really enjoyed Biology he actually got 100% in it, and now appears to be toying with the idea of becoming a doctor.He got A in all the key subjects so I told him if he applies himself as well with his A levels the worlds his oyster. He is big on sport so hopefully he will soon learn at college & Uni he can do sport with any occupation I think the sport is the pull towards the Marine & Merchant Navy both are great for team sports.
