There both decent coaches but i've got to go with Sandy as i'm a Rovers fan! FC fans say Sandy moans in every press conference after a defeat well that's true he's passionate and finds it hard to hide his dissappointment. Gentle on the other hand comes across as the most arrogant coach ever, Never giving any other team credit wrongly believing his own chairman's hype about his own team. It's annoying we lost to Cas because of our own failings not because Cas played brilliantly and deserved it. We didn't deserve to win at Magic cos WE played badly not that Rovers out enthused them for 70 minutes because believe me we were not brilliant ourselves that day. It's typical Aussie arrogance and it's annoying because all of the delusional fans are the same!!!

Theres nothing wrong with that interview. He WANTS to make Hull a top 2 side. Id be disappointed if CS didn't want to make Rovers a top 2 side as well.

TBF gentle would say that as he has all the tools available to achieve top 2 ambition and the pressure will really be on him, I find him really arrogant but this may be due to my rovers bias ,as for sandy I was in all honesty with the goose and thinking wrong geezer but you only miss something once it's gone and our attack is very entertaining, we all must remember tho there is a human element to all this and the local media and mudslinging is hard to shake, if you look at the terrible case of Brett seymore you understand that real people have real issues and it hurts. It is hopeful we as a club who now finds itself not awash with cash can be a real people and feisty club who enjoys the fight (remember survival season) the ground is now looking vibrant and cool , we as fans complete it on match day with our chants, let's get behind sandy and enjoy.

Fair run? Our captain was injured before the season started. Our half back had been suffering with depression. Our other halfback has missed have the season with the effects of concussion. Our goal kicker has been out for the majority of the season. Fairer run than most?

It's hard to string a decent attack together with makeshift halfbacks. Hopefully that's sorted now.


Hang on. Is defence not important? Again, we've not had our halfbacks so the attack was always going to suffer. We've got the players we want now and it will hopefully take time to gel.
As for developing players, what international potential is there for any of the Rovers youngsters? Because we've got a couple of stars emerging in our wing/centre partnership.






As for all your "he's arrogant and never gives credit to the opposition" lark, is that really true? Or are you just blocking out these parts so you can have a reason to moan? He often says the opposition were the better team, or that we didn't deserve the victory.
Sandercock on the other hand nearly always looks to blame the officials.
Against Cas, he blamed the penalty count.
Against Hudds, he attacked Alibert's performance.
Against Wigan, it was because of the Easter weekend.
Against Bradford, it was because of the weather conditions not suiting them.
Against us, it was a "tragedy".

Always an excuse. Even in a lot of the games you've won, he's blamed the referee for you not winning by more.

So where's all this credit to the opposition from your non-arrogant coach? Or is it one rule for one and one for the other?

I'd say Saint's have had worse luck with injuries this season then you & every team suffers from poor ref decisions at some time or another.

to be honest you have just picked out parts of what he said to suit your argument he gave credit to Bradford for playing the conditions better he said wigan were white hot and we couldn't compete they were that good and he complimented Huddersfield as well

I'm using the General Zod form of argument to show how contradictory he's being in his assessment of both coaches.

I think Sandercock is doing very well with the hand he's been dealt, but needs to learn to avoid blaming others for his side's defeats (something Rovers fans have commented on also). Defence has been a major issue for a while as well.

I really don't understand the Gentle arrogance comments at all. He's arrogant for saying his team lost because they didn't play well? I don't understand that at all. I'd say it's more arrogant to say your team lost because of the ref/weather/Easter. You can give credit all you like to the opposition, but you're not exactly complimenting them by saying your have won if it wasn't for the refs decisions!

I just think the whole thread is a needless d*ck-measuring competition started by a fan with an inferiority complex. Both coaches have pros and cons.

sandy's "luck" has been nowhere near as bad as brian mcdermot's and he spends so much time whining about refs when you lose that he doesn't have time to say much about the opposition
