| I lay there almost dead, my mind a wanderin’ back to those long warm days.
The doggies they’d be just a herding, we’d look for a nice shady pool, kick off our boots and jus’ a frolic in the water as happy as all that.
I don’t know when it first started to occur to me, seemed awful wrong and I thought maybe’s I caught myself one of those illnesses.
But as the light would fade beyond the mountains and the camp fire smells of beans started to chase the day away, I jus’ knew it was right.

| Goin' back before that, I'd always kept myself to myself. Jus' don't know who you can trust out on those prairies. Man might seem alright in the bar of some tumble weed town but put him four weeks out there and, well, looked like Scratchy Sandy might jus' be one of 'em.
Remember first time I saw him, didn't think much at first. Sometimes said a lot, others not much. No sense of humour so to speak, but underneath, I knew was more to than that.
Seemed kinda dark, although not much for goin' in for that analysing. Not really got the head nor the inclinination.
I could tell there was a tension though, like when a bog ole pack o' wolves gets caribou and her young cornered.
Jus' never guessed things would work out they gone and done.

| I cud feel now. Cud see that ole reaper with that sickle. Sharp as pins it was. Felt glad, truth be told.
That Sun goin' down, that's where I was. Strange music seemed to be playin' in ma ears, thought I heard it say somethin' 'bout Pesky Bob sayin' Scratchy Pete checked out. Ne'er mind, I knew where I was.
Back in them days, when we first met. Knew the darkness was just a cover, knew it weren't wrong.
That first night when we both came together, didn't even know his name back them, back before Denzil took him from me.
Back when we was a florickin', lookin' after the doggies, not a care in the world.
It was only after that first night, he told me his name.
Anakin Skywalker.

Which Rovers mod are you talking about?
I had some "Tenderstem" broccoli for tea. Is this vegetable an abominable hybrid with asparagus or acceptable, in your opinion?

| Cushions on a sofa (or is it settee amongst us inverted snobs? WIH will know) - a couple for comfort, maybe a third for ornament. But 5 on a 2 seater... I can hardly fit my plump, hairy gluteo on it. Love her though.

Had to Google it, but the synopsis of a boring bloke and vivacious woman is pretty accurate. Except I'm not going to change.

In the film, Ben Stiller's ex was very keen on decorative cushions, although on the bed rather than sofa. About 14 of them. After they split up he realises he spent 2 days a year moving the cushions off the bed to get into it, and then putting them all back in the morning and no time using them. There's a scene later on with Jennifer Aniston (Polly) where they stab the pillows. Quite funny in the film, but I've killed it now.

| I've got a cold, that's about 3 this year - I thought you were supposed to get less as you get older. Anyone believe in taking zinc, vitamin C or anything else as preventative?

| Went to a couple of the holiday sites near Brid today (Reighton Sands and Primrose Valley). Used to love them as a kid, but they seem to have lost their character and be money-orientated now, e.g. Starbucks & Burger King at a Haven site. Way of the world though I guess.

Had bad cold / flu just before Xmas. I drank quite a lot of pure orange, symptoms only lasted a matter of days so the vitamin c may have helped but obviously you can't be certain.
However, two great supplements I take are spirulina and chlorella. IIRC spirulina alone contains something like over 100 nutrients, both recommended for general health, preventing things like colds, supposed to be great energy boosters, etc etc.

| Am a tad worried about Mr Worm. He's taken to standing at the edge of the campsite staring towards the sand dunes and the horizen.
He's refused to take a stroll down to the village for fish and chips and has insisted on burning a can of Heinz beans still in the tin over the 'fire pit' you can hire for 3 quid from the camp shop. When we got back he had wrapped himself in the dog's blanket and was lying in the mud next to the glowing embers, having shoved his bottle of Evian under the dog.
Dog is completely disorientated and hasn't even got the sofa (nor two cushions for comfort) to lie on, just a cramped blow up chair.

| My friend put me onto this and it's something I've noticed quite a lot recently.
Why do people with big expensive cars insist on using there mobile phones whilst driving?
You can get a hands free kit installed for about eighty quidish, small beer surely when you're driving a 60k car? Or if you're a skin flint you could even get one of those awful blue tooth ear pieces that old men who no one ever calls wear whilst buying micro chips in Morrison's.

| I'll tell another little story, gone back to normal today, quite enjoyed being in Brokeback Mountain yesterday.
One of my friends is thinking of having laser eye treatment so she doesn't have to wear glasses, on explaining this to her five year old daughter, (a renowned minx and all round cheeky little madam) her daughters biggest concern was if her mum wasn't going to wear glasses anymore, who would play the part of Harry Potter?

| Another one, full of questions today. Curious. Curiosity Killed The Cat. Rubbish band that, Ben Vol Au Vont Pisspot was the lead singer, wore a beret. True story.
Anyway, I digress.
Why do people ask you a question via PM and then when you reply, they don't read it?
And the mods read your PM's, nosy. Stasi. Obergruppenführer's.

I suspect (though owning an Astra and being a Guardian reader type, I wouldn't know), that the big car makes them think they are big people and rules are for little people - nanny state nonsense like speed limits.
