Allgood was our outstanding prop at the start of the season. We miss him as much as walker right now.
Your right about the others. Green seems to have it in him occasionally, Cox........well the least said the better. Burke, I can't work out what he is. Done nothing in a Rovers shirt too.

| We were out muscled from start to finish , we need a few more bodies back and best start preparing for the middle 8's..
I said to my lad last night that Cas. Would get off to a better start than us. When we arrived at CP luke gale and the cas wingers were all out putting bombs up, no sign of any Rovers players out there preparing. We weren't ready for the game to start come 8 pm

| I like Green, he seems to get a bit of flak on here, but he has had to go from our substitute prop behind weyman, Allgood, Bailey and Walker to our starting 8. I think he has the aggression and fire, and I'm hoping our incoming director of rugby (or whatever his title is) will help him to the next level, as for Cox, he looked good last season and was pleased when he resigned but he has gone backwards since then.

| Agree with FTF about Allgood and Walker and Hessle Rover is right that you can't teach aggression. Perhaps intensity and desire more accurately describes the qualities we need now and what I am trying to say. There is a very fine line between intensity and aggression. Overstep the mark on the latter always equates to a player who keeps getting sinbinned, cited or banned the way the game is played now.
Translated into action on the pitch, offensively it means running on to the ball at high speed and pumping the legs after collision, running alternate lines, a quicker PTB, much faster ruck speed, using dummy runners and supporting the runner. Defensively it means alertness at marker, increasing the marker tackles made, much faster line speed, wrapping the ball in the tackle to prevent the off load, dominating the defensive wrestle during the PTB, keeping your opponents to about 5 metres a carry and allowing the opposing prayers into your half of the field only by exception.
Simples, but sadly all the above has gone AWOL in recent performances. The solution lies with the coaching staff. CC is guilty of persisting with under performance. However, he has managed to fire up the side in the right way several times in a manner I rarely saw under Sandercock but never in a way I saw under Justin Morgan.

| cas has us worked out from the word go, everybody usually kicks straight down campo's throat from kick off, but they kicked left and we weren't ready for it. People will send bombs up for Charlie more and more if he stays at Fb. Think Dixon has a much better pair of hands and teams give up with him as he takes a high percentage of them

| We have been desperately unlucky with injuries, poore and weyman having to retire, bailey being bailey,.I thought we had recruited pretty well except felt like us all that hooker would be a weakness.Allgood, walker ,bailey, green, looked pretty reasonable, the rest of the pack looked ok to me as well, larroyer, burke, donaldson, mcarthy, cox and ollett had promise as well, and along with allgoods outstanding start, graeme horne was in the form of his life,i thought we looked to have a decent level of cover.Lunt made a huge impact first few matches, but with, allgood, bailey, walker, tilse who looked a decent signing, horne all absent for lengthy periods and various reasons,it ripped the heart out of our pack.
Take 5 starters out of any pack and they will struggle, last night mcarthy made 55 tackles last night and iam sure with the majority of our 1st choice pack back we would be a match for most, look at the difference across the river since ellis returned to lead them.
Disappointed with our league position but do feel we do have had some tough luck with injuries this year.

Injuries have hurt us, true. That doesn't excuse a half hearted effort to stop the opposition forwards through the middle in recent games and also the lack of go forward on offence. When the backs gain more yards than the forwards bringing the ball out from our half, you have to ask if those forwards are really trying their hardest.
I think you're making excuses for underperformance. As I said on another thread, the RFL reschedule meant I missed my first home game this year, but I listened to the Cas game on RH. Seems like we upped our performances a bit in the 2nd half, so it can be done.
When we have the ball deep in the opposition half, with composure we are likely to score. Shame we are having to rely on opposition errors and penalties to get there with fully paid professional players wearing our shirt.

Im not making excuses iam giving reasons, the 1st half we were awful and dominated,as you say in the 2nd half we could have won it,but early season we dominated teams in the pack, when we played hull at the kc and won 20-6,the pack was walker, lunt, allgood, blair, horne, mcarthy, with larroyer and burke on the bench.A big difference imo.mcarthy made only had to make12 tackles in that game, lunt 44,allgood31,walker31,burke26,horne25,last night mcarthy had to make55.obviously as you say some are not making enough effort,or are simply not good enough.

| Rovers rode their luck in the early part of the season and pinched a couple of wins when they should have been down to 12 men early on. Your luck has ran out and you have been found out.

Who did we "pinch" a win against certainly not hull,we cruised in.Injuries are part of the game and at the moment we are struggling, but just remember how bad you were while ellis was injured, and remember what goes around comes around.

Hull had enough field position in the 1st derby to win the game twice but at that stage we couldn't have scored in a brothel. With the way we're playing now we'd win that game with the same amount of field position and possession. The stats from the game were well in our favour other than the score obviously

| First 25 mins or so Rovers just didn't compete really.
Cas were taking the ball up strong but were unopposed for 10 or 15 metres, then came the collision between a Cas player running at full pelt & a Rovers defender stood still waiting for him to smash into him. Unsurprisingly Cas won the collision and added to the 10/15 metres already gained unopposed.
It was quite shocking that Rovers were so lacklustre and I am at a loss to explain it.
Albert Kelly produced a couple of moments of brilliance to get us back in it and from them on it was a completely different game. Cas still gave it everything but no longer had the free 10/15 metres per tackle and suddenly they found it much harder.
For a while it looked like Rovers might pull it out of the fire and got within 2 points but a piece of brilliance from Campese didn't quite come off and Cas scored soon after to restore a 2 score advantage with not long left and that was that.
Going 0-18 down in the blink of an eye and without Rovers breaking a sweat ultimately proved too much of a hurdle.
Chris Chester & the Rovers team do need to do a bit of soul searching after this. Cas clearly came out with the intention of a fast start whilst Rovers seemed happy to work their way into the game.
Once the game became a contest there was little to choose and Rovers probably shading it. Definitely a game we could & should have won but didn't.

Yes I specifically remember your post at Easter saying - Radford Out. Yes I specifically remember your post at Easter saying - Radford Out.
I am waiting for your updated post later this month, saying - Radford for Pope, saying Radford for Archbishbosh of York, saying Radford deserves a 5 year contract extension, saying Radford will win coach of the year, saying Radford for Future England coach, saying Hull will hammer Leeds in the RL Challenge Cup next round. Basically talking .
