Totally disagree with you on that one, cant see there been any away fans in the East stand as most Rovers fans wouldnt move into the North Stand to be behind the sticks.

Interestingly enough Prescott was done Preston Road last week giving awards out to people in relation to the regeneration project now been 10 years since it's start. Wonder if he had conversations then.

So who would take up the 3000 seats in the North and were would they have moved from ?

Seriously, if you can only make a handful of games your options are pretty limited or not particularly attractive at the moment. I'd be moving from a pre-booked restricted view in the West stand - but instead of turning up twice or thrice a season, the extra flexibility and better facilities will get me up 5 or 6 times a year. If I drag my dad (in his 60s now) or grandad (a spritely octagenarian) along, there is no way I'm making them sit in an uncovered stand.

Hull's attendance leapt form roughly 7k to about 11k following the move to the KC - it might be ambitious to suggest that Rovers could match that, but better facilities will attract more fans and, crucially, attract them back more often.

Correct, plus, as we have been told so often, the only reason the travelling thousands from Salford, Hudderfield, Quins and Hull don't come is the poor facilities for away supporters. Remove that obstacle and there'll be no excuse, will there?

Thanks MR for answering the loon for me, of course SOME people may wish to move - espcially some of the older generation from the West stand for better facilities. And better facilities WILL generate more fans - its proven.

Surely all you are doing for away fans is moving the deckchairs from one end to another, hardly improving if they are not going in the new stand or the exisiting covered ones

Not many teams fans travel anyway - so i personally would rather we increase our home support before thinking of roofing for away fans, how many of quins/cats//salford ect go to Leeds?

Ah, but, it will be sufficient for the travelling masses to know the facilities exist you see. That's the important thing.

While where talking about ground developments Mike Sexton on the unofficial forum says that work on the east stand extension will commence next month some fantastic news. Will be a cracking site full of red n white going the full length of the pitch. Will that take us to 12,000 capacity then iirc where at around 10,500 currently arent we.

So that the uncovered masses in the South stand will feel even more miserable with the covered East stand even closer.

why extend the east stand if your stadium hardly ever sells out?

I think that it is part of the ongoing plans to meet existing and future franchise requirements. I would imagine that Rover's business plan involves increasing the size of the crowds beyond the existing capacity (at least for some matches).

The extra capacity would give Rovers flexibility to have offers or giveaways to induce more paying customers long term. Just my thoughts mind.

There wouldn't be. If 3000+ Hull fans could stand together under cover then we'd fill it. You should vacate the east stand for the derny and let us fill that as well

Yeah, like the temp stand is now, the new stand will be split between home away support.

so if it hold 3 thousand, is that correct?, a away side if they sell their allocated tickets should have 1500 in there?

Can't remember the exact capacity, but yeah I guess so. Maybe for bigger games such as playoffs and derbies, we'll use the golf stand as well.

Part of the reason where not selling games out is the South stand. Other areas of the ground do regularly sell out. So extending those areas of the ground will increase attendances. The East stand sells out for every home game. I certainly know many fans who don't go to Rovers because they can't get in the East stand. If the stand sells out every week then logic says if you can extend it then do it.
