| Had a quick look through this thread and there seems to be some reference by Rovers fans to this 'greatest game of rugby'.
Have I missed something, first half was poor, 2nd half had a good last 20 mins and then the exciting extra time.
Far from the a great game I thought. Wire just had more momentum going into extra time.

| I try and stay objective when it comes to commenting on Hull FC, I have a lot of friends from the dark side and to be quite honest with you I'm really not that ar5ed whether they win lose or draw unless they're playing us. In fact a part of me would like to see them finishing 2nd in the league runners up in the GF and CC as long as we won the lot. A bit of inner city competition is good for the banter and the city.
What has surprised me is the bitterness with which they seem to show us that never seems to go the other way, yes we like to see them get beat, and it's good of them to let us have our wish every more often then not but there seems to be an underlying nastiness from them now we're succeeding. I've had reasonably rational friends of mine telling me how Lee Briers is there hero, wearing Warrington shirts and generally taking more glee out of us losing then they have out of winning themselves.
Having pondered this for a while I believe it comes down to a few points,
Firstly there is in built arrogance that they should be the top club in the city. Where was that written in to RL law. This seems to stem from a club that believes they are a top 4 club, yet another falicy, how come a top 4 club in the last 20 years has only won 1 trophy, been in 2 other finals and only finished top 4 twice....
Looking at the recent history of their club it all becomes a bit more apparent as to where the bitternesscomes from, we are looking at a club that when hard times looked like hitting decided to sell their name, their colours and their beloved home ground. They became a corporate entitiy run by faceless business people who given a different set of circumstances would never have set a foot in Hull. They may in recent times after crashing another club have recaptured their name and colours but they will never regain the main thing they sold which is the soul, heart and spirit of their club. Yes they may be sat in a nice seat, but its a corporate monlith lacking in atmosphere that is a totem of all that is rotten within their club.
They took the easy option of keeping their top flight status by selling out and now they are reaping what was sowed, cheap options in all levels of staff, lack of passion from the top down and lack of an identity. Dull playing styles that are now ingrained in the club, a short term win is all that matters as long as it can be cashed in on.
We can hold our heads high and say our club is still our club, we will carry on progressing and if that meansthe dull side gets more bitter then so be it.

Please explain the 'Bull poop' in the middle... Yes we sold our ground as it was a cheaper option then renovating the old one. We then used the money to finance the new one. For me that was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made, it was the start of the end and it's took us the best part of 20 years to get those times back. I think you'll find you're heading down the same road. What we never sold was our club.
Recent events have just confirmed my initial post.. Signing shaun long on a two year deal when Orford or Thurston were apparently knocking down your door. So thats a 2 32 year olds taking the lions share of your cap and why. It'll sell a few shirts, can see it now, No7 Long shirts hardly worn when he joins your never ending injury list
I've had the decency to answer your post now do me a favour and answer my original points constructively...

Yes we did sell our stadium, big deal, when you compare it to the fact FC sold their soul.
You can dress it up how you like, you did what you did to survive, now you are reaping the "rewards."
Just my and obviously Bahram Red's opinion, I have never posted it as you just get the usual arguments afterwards, but seeing as he did, I commented that it was a top post.

We sold our ground for for exactly same reasons and in hindsight it was the best thing to happen to the club.
The reason why i called your post bull is because as usual you lot go on about us merging/selling the club etc etc but seem to forget about your clubs financial history
I'll reserve judgement on our signings till they're all complete.

Trust me no one forgets our clubs financial history, it was a mess and it very nearly killed the club. It put us out of top flight rugby and I for one thought we'd never get it back.
I have no problem with your club 'merging', as reeney said you did what youthought you had to do, but what I do have a problem with is the attitude of your fans when we start to do well. You should relish the challenge and rise to it but instead its more aggressive bile and vitriol, which to be honest seems more pathetic then anything
You seem to think your the liverpool of RL, when in fact its more of a Newcastle, a laughable brigade who every knows will always think they're bigger than they are... in short you're nothing more than a faceless Franchise, which is about as damning a thing as could ever be said...

TBH both clubs have fans who go over the top but such is life.
As for thinking we are bigger club than we actually are your fans are well known on these forums for your over the top estimates on away crowds but both fans will always claim their team is bigger it's part of the banter
Don't worry about us just concentrate on supporting HKR ( and enjoying the good times your having at the minute)

| Let cheeky charlie put this to bed , Fc merged and sold their soul and identity, they are a club in decline , the board is a joke who take the p1ss out of the fickle fans , they do everything on the cheap, the admin errors are unbelievable , the embarrassment they cause their fickle fans is laughable, their board tell lies , they do not communicate with their fans .
Hull KR , have great passionate fans, create the best atmosphere in the league, the board is made up of fans and ex players, morale at the club is fantastic, we sign quality players , we did it ourselfs , we BELIEVED and achieved our status ourselves and the Gateshull mob hate that fact that we are now the number one superleague team in the city

We have a decent youth set up with the bulk of the squad being british if not Hull born players which bodes well for the future of SL. Need i go on?

You seem to have overlooked the fact that despite the fact you are making a profit at the moment you are also £2M in debt.
You are a club on a deep downward spiral.
You have a board that is running you into the ground and the worst thing for you all is, there is nothing you can do about it.

I don't really understand this.
RL clubs have souls?
What is the soul of a RL club?
All the history and success the club enjoyed previous to the merger was 'sold'?
Bizarre. Easty has certainly tutored you well in the art of posting anti-fc drivel.

RL clubs have souls?
What is the soul of a RL club?
All the history and success the club enjoyed previous to the merger was 'sold'?
Bizarre. Easty has certainly tutored you well in the art of posting anti-fc drivel.'"

| Quote ="cheeky charlie"you play in that stadium we could have played in the stadium that you fail to create an atmosphere in , yes pal its a nice stadium but the atmosphere is poop end of, you aint making money at all, your youth set up is pants most up and coming lads are coming to Rovers now gone are the days you had the pick of the crop, get over it you are second fiddle to rovers now in every sense , yes please go on

I'm afraid this elevated position in the league has really gone to your head hasn't it. I suppose we should expect this from fans from a small club who haven't had any major success in over 2 decades. Bet you thought you were off to Wembley too this year didn't you?
