At the end of the season, we all write our names down on a bit of paper and chuck them in a barrel. Then we all draw a name out (a bit like Secret Santa) and you have to buy that persons pass for next year.
This way, everyone gets in free for every game.'"

Mainly the toilets, no where enough when the stand is full, I queued for 10 minutes and nearly missed the 2nd half, in fact when I got back to my seat just as the 2nd half started the stand was less than half full as people were still queuing for the toilet and food/drinks.

This was the main point of contention when Hudgell fell out with the council over the design during construction.
What were the band (Cuba Drive) like?

You may want to refer to Neil Hundgells article about some of the councils c*ck ups when building the stand. The wrong colour cladding was just one of many points the club were not happy with. You would think something like the number of toilets needed for 2600 fans at half time would be an excel spreadsheet job nowadays. Plenty of stadia built over the last decade to know what is needed for a half time rush.
Maybe Phil Webster could shed some light

I can see why he was upset, will be ok for smaller games, but a nightmare for bigger ones.
Didn't hear the band, they were setting up before the game under there, but never heard them play.
On second thoughts were they the ones who sung red red robin before the game?

The band were quite good. Did a lot of their own stuff first and then some covers.
The fans looked like they were enjoying it

There you are then. The tickets were paid for but not by the people who used them. Therefore Rovers did not 'give away' free tickets.

So these are what? £90 passes? If they get 1500 of them and Hull get £140k. Can't remember seeing any for sale at that amount. What I think they are is a couple of hundred passes for premier club pass holders who are entitled to go to both rugby and football, which seems fair enough that Hull should get a cut of the money

No, it's premier club tickets which are in excess of £500 each so equates to less than 300, plus the attendance figure only includes those who actually attend as the system is computerised

I never said they were free, just taht the people attending didn't pay. Did they all turn up? How much did rovers receive for them? Sounds like another waste of tax payer's money to me

| Without getting into the free / paid for / tax payer debate.......Good marketing by Rovers IMO, the "record" attendance got plenty of mentions in column inches and social media. Some may well come back for a second look and if every "freebie" spent a fiver than worthwhile.
FC had too many gimmick's last season but personally think we should have had school kids free for the Catalans game & simarlarly should be doing this when we play London

Which brings us back to the oft asked but never answered question, why did Hudge approve the plans on Rovers' behalf in the first place? His subsequent spat with the people who enabled the stand to come to fruition in the first place seems bizarrely unjustified at best.
I can sort of understand the cladding issue, as it appears the wrong colour was ordered, but 2 bogs? That would be clearly on the plans and should've been picked up by anyone with an ounce of common sense. Why did Hudge sign it off?

What makes you think he did sign it off or that he knew about any changes?
The build looks different to the plans at the start of the project.
Maybe Phil Webster could come on and clear a few things up.

| Other than teasing someone you know personally, I don't see the big deal about Rovers giving away some freebies!
All clubs do it every season. I've obtained free tickets from both Leeds and FC in the past, the only difference is it doesn't become published in the media as much, which is probably down to the fact the other teams aren't trying to break any form of attendance record.
