The blow of his retirement has maybe been softened slightly by Walker and Allgood's form this year. Last season he was my player of the year and in a poor side I don't think he got the plaudits his efforts deserved.

I hope the cap and potential quota spot can be used on a good replacement, but I would guess everyone else's squads are pretty much set for the season - so it's unlikely there will be loads of options.

Weyman was great last year but if we get lunt and use Burke and cox as props or dip in the championship we will be fine

Sad news this. Weyman had a good season for us last year and showed he was a class act on and off the field.
If there is an upside, its that it's happened early in the season and we can address our prop shortage in time for any new signing to make a major impact for the team's campaign.

Bit o/t but ... One of your ex players said he got told Ryan Bailey is Wakey bound and the reason he's been going awol is due to the fact he doesn't like the traveling !!!! He also mentioned Danny kirmond could be heading your way but that one sounds a bit far fetched tbf

If Ryan Bailey wants out I don't see us being in a bargaining position with Wakefield, but if there was some sort of deal to strike I would take scruton or there no10 I think his name is Anderson he was awesome against us this season at there place

Glad I got to see Weyman play for us a class act and top quality player. Played hard and was a class act off the field.

Good player and good bloke it seemed like from interviews. Sorry it has ended this way for him, but he's had a career he can be very proud of and he's a player who has done something to secure his future - civil engineering qualification, iirc. Good luck to him with that or whatever he does next.

Well I certainly wouldn't bet against that tbh, the thing is though I can't make me mind up whether FC are fighting to get out of the bottom 4, or fighting to stay in it

Big shame that it's ended like this for Mick, really enjoyed watching him play last year, he certainly took it to the opposition.

He's made a very good and dignified decision in my view. I've encountered a lot of ex RL players in there sixties and seventies that look ten years older and the game undoubtedly took years off there lives. Mick is an intelligent bloke with plenty of options for the rest of his life. He could have sat in the stands and taken his wage for the rest of the season but after only one year at a club on the other side of the world he's chosen to be extremely honourable.

Mick, thanks for the effort watching you sprint for the line last year was worth my pass money alone. Always gave us an edge on the field but I think it will be his influance & attitude around the squad we will miss the most & if we bring any one else in then someone with his attitude is a must.

A really great send off from the crowd at half time. I hope that some of that 2nd half was for Mick. Despite only playing 20-odd games for us, he won't be forgotten in any rush.
