Leaving a final table of;
5th Catalans............32 points
6th St Helens...........31 points
7th Hull FC...............30 points (walkovers against reserve teams in last 2 fixtures)
8th Rovers...............26 or 28 or 30 points (makes no difference).
.'"
so you are assuming that catalan will win both their last two games against leeds and wire.. a tough ask
you then are assuming that fc will win both last two games wigan and st`s,
which means you have St`s as beating wire this friday...
personally i can`t see catalan getting another point this year... leaving them on 28pts
so my table would be
sts 31pts with a loss to wire and win at fc
fc 28pts wigan win and sts loss
cats losses at leeds and wire
kr 28pts win at london but loss at widness (bad points diff)
only other real poss i see is
sts 31 as above
kr 30pts wins at both widnes and london
fc 28pts wigan win and sts loss
cat 28pts losses
that would be my poss table finishes

| looking at the time and date of play off round 1 then I would assume 5 - 8 games will all play on the Saturday so the 2 day turn around will not happen

That's not in our hands now. 5th has gone and 6th only possible with 2 wins for us and Catalans losing at home next week. Its likely they will be facing an under strength Wire side who literally will have nothing to play for (will be guaranteed 2nd should Hudds win on Sunday).

| 2 out of 3 went our way, so can't grumble too much. If we don't beat Widnes, I think that means 8th now.
If we do beat them, then to have a shot at a home tie, we'd need Wire to beat Catalans in Perpignan. And as they're now safe in 2nd with only the faintest hope of first, I can see Smith resting plenty.
1 point down, 5 minutes to and Gentle looks half doomed. 1 point win and now they're a home win away from 5th. Those are some fine margins!

If Huddersfield win on Sunday then Warrington can't finish 3rd or 1st and will rest players for the trip to Catalan leaning to a Catalan Victory and 7th place for us, Thats if we win our last two games of course.
Win our last two games and Cats lose to Warrington and we'll ensure a 6th place finish.

| Of course, we play after every other game has finished next weekend. Consider this: beat London and go to France, play the kids, lose and go to Hull? That's some dilema.

| Obviously got to win on Sunday, then hope Wakey beat Huddersfield leading Wire with a sniff of the league leaders (do they even want it though ) that's how daft this league is. We have to announce our 19man squad earlier than Saturday, If Huddersfield have secured the league, might as well play some kids against London, let's be honest that should be enough to see them off as it is, i'd be gutted if a major player gets injured going hell for leather against London..but...
Just win the next two Rovers and take on whoever, wherever.
Is there any pre-planned play-off schedules anywhere?

i found this ............ on huddersfield site
SUPER LEAGUE PLAY-OFF GUIDE ANNOUNCED
Giantsrl.com take an in depth view of the road to the Grand Final
Grosvenor Casino
With the Play-Offs fast approaching giantsrl.com take a look at the four week structure that will pave the way for two teams to battle it out in the Grand Final at Old Trafford, Manchester.
Week One - 12th/13th/14th September:
The run-in to Old Trafford starts on Thursday 12th September (8pm) where one of four matches will take place, before the second on Friday 13th September (8pm) and a double header on Saturday 14th September (3pm and 5pm) rounds of the four fixtures.
The league leaders will take on the fourth placed side while second will lock horns with third. The winners of both these games will go straight to week three and the highest-placed winner will utilise the ‘clubcall’ system, where they can select their opponents in the Semi-Final.
The other two matches in the first week are titled ‘Elimination Play-Offs’ where the losers are eliminated. The teams finishing between fifth and eighth will be involved and will see the fifth placed team take on eighth and the team finishing in 6th place will clash with 7th-placed. The winners will go to week two and will face up against the losers of the 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd games.
Week Two – 19th/20th September:
The second weekend involves two matches, called the preliminary Semi-Finals, which are straight knock-out games. One fixture will be played on Thursday 19th September (8pm) and one on Friday 20th September (8pm).
The highest placed loser from the 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd from the previous week will face up against the lowest ranked winner (the team finishing in 6th, 7th or 8th place). The winners will go into week 3.
The other match will feature the lowest ranked loser (2nd, 3rd or 4th placed team) from the first week against the highest placed winner from the ‘Elimination Play-Off’ in the first week. The losers are out, the winners through to week three.
Week Three – 26th/27th September:
Like Week Two, this round is an elimination round and is titled ‘Qualifying Semi-Finals’ with the fixtures taking place on Thursday 26th September (8pm) and Friday 27th September (8pm). The winners will go and contest in the Grand Final at Old Trafford and the matches will take the following format:
Highest ranked winner from Week One v Clubcall selected club
Second ranked winner from Week One v Club not selected for Clubcall.
Week Four 5th October:
The Super League Grand Final will take place at Old Trafford, Manchester.
The game to decide the Super League Champions will take place on Saturday 5th October with a 6pm kick-off.

Not at all we now have a degree of control over the situation.
I don't know if we will win our remaining 2 games I certainly don't want to take that for granted. If we don't then we're 8th and will definitely not now play Catalans. We will be away to the winners of the Hull v Saints game who are now guaranteed 5th. But should we win our remaining 2 fixtures.................read on.
As I say the winner of Hull v Saints is now guaranteed 5th therefore the highest we can finish is 6th but the loser of Hull v saints will finish below us meaning we will be 7th at worst (repeat assuming we have won our last 2 fixtures).
So it would all boil down to the Catalans v Warrington game. Warrington win and great stuff we are 6th and a home play off against the losers of Hull v Saints. Catalan win and they are 6th we are 7th and we have the nightmare trip to France.
Except....to repeat, if we have lost to Widnes we cannot now face a trip to Catalans because that guarantees 8th and a trip to the winners of Hull v Saints. If we have beaten Widnes everything will have unfolded before we kick off against London. So we will know if a win will get us 6th and if so full steam ahead. Alternatively we will know if a win will give us the nightmare trip to Perpignan.
Should it come to that then surely with the precedent now set we should follow the example of Wigan and select our U19 team against London.

firstly to make it interesting you have to beat widnes
then the last weekend can be summed up like this
1. saints and hull can in theory finish anywhere from 5th to 8th
2. yourselves and cats can finish anywhere from 6th to 8th
3. in theory yourselves and catalan could still finish 5th though it would require a hull v saints draw, and either catalan to beat wire by 100 points or yourselves to score at least 215 points in the last 2 games - or both
couple of caveats to the games - wire may well head to catalan knowing they are safe in second, so may play a weakened team. also your game v london, may be a possibility of it being london's last ever superleague game - could be an emotional match

| I assumed that the play off games would be 1v4 on thurs 2v3 fri and then the 5-8 games on the saturday, would give us a chance of a decent turn around. Looking at possibilities 5-8 may not be pos on Saturday due to citys home match. Has anything been said what games are when?

1v8
2v7
3v6
4v5
Straight knockout for a cup like it used to be.Hudds or Wire deserve to be champions, not a team from mid table.

From a practical point of view if Catalan get a home tie then would expect them to be given a Saturday fixture.
Not sure how things stand if FC get a home tie and are told to play on a Saturday? prior to Allam the ruling was that FC took priority from end of footie season to end of end of SL season (June - Sept), a precedent has been set I think a few years back when City had to move their fixture to the Sunday.
With City in the Premier League and the bad blood with Allam don't know what would happen now, hopefully SKY will use some common since and give FC the Thurs / Fri slot if not then a possibility FC game could be at a neutral venue (IIRC Wigan were in this position a couple of years ago, but Whelan eventually backed down, and the footie game was moved)
All conjecture as we may still finish 8th.

City did bring forward a game of theirs a few years back (2006/07 ?) in order to accomodate our play off game. I think we ended up kicking off about three hours after the end of their game which was some turnaround to pull off by the KC staff.
With City now being a part of the all powerful PL, that scenario seems unlikely to be repeated, and that's before we consider the slightly fractious relationship between the two clubs which appears to exist at the moment.
It would be ironic if we finish above you and still end up having to pay another visit to your place due to no other available options.
Of course, you still have two games to play and we have one, so there are still plenty of twists and turns to pan out.
