| Isn't there a maximum number of concussions you're allowed to take in your career before medical advice says enough? I seem to remember seeing something about it

| Quote ="REDEOD"This point was mentioned on the blunderside commentary. The long term Impact of these head knocks on the health of the players is known to be severe. Iām not sure if the game has changed and we are seeing more head injuries as a result or if the fact that the concerns are so prevalent they become much more highlighted.
But apparently players have to be given the ok to play by a neurologist, which suggests the safeguard responsibility is taken away from the club and given to an independent individual which is the correct way imo.'"
I think the legal ramifications of the NFL stuff in the US has got all sports concerned that if they don't ensure that players are not looked after then they will be sued.
The concussions in the past were not as heavily focussed on, but there are players such as Ian Roberts in Australia who are associating the lack of player care with brain damage.
Nowadays the clubs, governing bodies, their lawyers and insurers are all terrified of legal action. If players consistently get headknocks their clubs won't be able to insure them and they will have to retire whether they want to or not.

All of which makes you wonder why the persistence of the Easter fixture programme if player welfare is so important to the RFL?
Theyāre so contradictory to each other it beggars belief.

| Being cynical... it's easier to prove head knocks = brain damage than it is that playing multiple times in a short space of time results in long term injury.
Just guessing though!

| Did anyone else watch the Catalan v Wigan game and think that John Bateman threw his head at the floor on purpose when he was lifted over the horizontal?
I know players try to force the refs to make a decision but this is going too far haha.

| I just heard a rumour Catalans have signed Trent Hopkinson just waiting for a visa... not sure if itās true but if it is it makes me think that the reason we canāt sign a half back is because we wonāt pay the right money

The same Trent Hodkinson that's named at 6 this week for the Sharks? He won't be going anywhere fast I wouldn't have thought

| Keinhorst signed for Widnes for a month .
How the hell did we miss out on him. I would have thought Peacock would have bagged us him . Probably too busy running his coaching camps , motivational speeches and working in the media .......

Iāve been less than impressed with Peacockās acumen as DoR. Keinhorst is by no means a bad player, but signing him would do nowt to change my view. Not what we need currently. Iām sure Peacockās wage reflects the time he puts in, and the more rugby decisions that are made by Sheens, the better I like it.
I know youāre no getting an awful lot of traction, btw, but If youāre angry about everything, then pretty soon the effect is diluted rather than added to.
OT, where do folks think Gilmore and Mellor sit in the first choice halfback hierarchy in the northern hemisphere? I know theyāre playing in a busted team, but they really donāt offer much, imo. Thatās them both scoring hat-tricks in the MPG against us then!

The Pocket Rocket was my favourite ā other teams ā player. Great servant to Leeds , would have loved to see him play for Rovers .
Retired at 35 after winning the treble with the Rhinos , and retired with respect and dignity .
Unlike Peacock who was part of that Same side but had to lace up his boots to try to save Rovers from relegation after stating we never needed to recruit .

| edit, MR. Whichever part of the AUP covers waving an imaginary red card.
I donāt necessarily share his views, and i know that on occasion Hull fans try to pose as Rovers fans (often with hilarious ineptitude). But, on the other hand, some people do tend to the angry or miserable. Just look at the Hull board, during one of the best times in their history - those arenāt all Rovers infiltrators. Some are dildos, admittedly.
