As did Hull, or didn't you see the 'all pile on' celebration of the illegal try. Game meant just as much to Hull.

Yeah fancy signing a first grade half back when we could have waited 6 months and signed a THIRD choice. What were we thinking?

The awarding of the Yeaman no-try was the turning point, it gave hope where none should have been given.

It was a try. The ball was on the line and in his hand. Everyone on the TV seemed happy with it. To say it was a no try just shows bitterness and a need to look for excuses.
Stick to the real "no try".

I'd say it was more 90/10. There was very little doubt after seeing a picture on a screen with the ball on the line and Yeaman's hand on it. Although we can't rely on the video these days...

| I think it was still unclear it was touching the line and in real time it looks like he's lost control of the ball before it hits the ground.
But, the person who gave the try can't see someone stood 2 yards offside and follow them down the pitch so what hope is there that any of his decisions were correct.
90/10.

Has to be a reason to disallow the try. Multiple camera angles failed to give one. Therefore a try every day of the week.
I've seen far worse given. Not even slightly controversial. Unanimity in the Sky commentary box also, so not just my opinion.

| I can think of four reasons not to give it;
• Kirk Yeaman
• Mistaked the try line for the 20M line
• Peter Fox was offside
• The post obstructed Greg Eden
And that's just off the cuff.

| What was you unbiased view of the O'Meley tackle on Mika? The Ganson decision would have only then meant the difference between a two point and an eight point victory.

| Ah! The wonderful Kirk! So essential in a derby. His determination to score that try did, indeed, as Paul T states, turn the game.
Love that cheeky badge kisser! Love him.

| Quote ="meatpaste"one player I am most disappointed in is Travis. When is he going to start playing?'"

Time to round up the sheep.
Unfortunately the rugby league community is like a bunch of sheep who get carried away with the narrative of what the next sheep is saying (whether on the terraces, the RL media or message boards) rather than making informed and considered opinions on what actually happens (or not happens) during a game.
It's no coincidence that our most solid and clinical performances have been when Burns has seen enough of the ball in the right areas. Unfortunately on Saturday, his involvement was stifled by Dobson's repeatedly wasteful 5th tackle plays instead of getting the ball to Burns - this lack of consistency is why Dobson never made it in the NRL.
Burns may appear less flash than other half-backs but the crucial thing about him and his best quality is that he's consistent and clinical and if opportunities present themselves, then more often than not he makes the opposition pay like last week against Wakey and in the games against Saints where as the likes of Dobson, Holdsworth etc. are not clinical enough and that's why those players were cast aside by NRL clubs and had to come over here.
Aside from Burns superior career to Dobson as a player, I'm convinced that the emergence of finally seeing some "mongrel" in our forward pack (after years of our flat-track bullies who went into hiding when the going got tough) is largely attributable to Burns influence and if previous service to the club wasn't a factor, then Burns would be our captain hands down. Of course his temperament has been a hindrance to him but that's the type of player he is.
The respective career paths of both players prove that Burns is a different class of player to Canberra reject Dobson and Cantebury rejects Holdsworth and Green as well for that matter.

| Just because a player has a better career in the NRL doesn't mean that they are a better play in SL. Brett Seymour has a better record than all those you have mentioned and look at him in SL.
If you watched NRL (as I do every week), you would have seen that Burns has been a pretty average 6, when he has played, he would do a decent job at 13 IMO. I look at putting Hall at 6 and Burns at 13.
One thing I do agree on is Dobson, having watched the game again, I was surprised he got MOTM, his lack tackle plays near our line was poor, especially in the first half. Personally I thought your best players where Lovegrove and wait for it Eden (who has great until the last few minutes).
