Perhaps. But if you're bringing in young Wigan players to give them first team chances, it's somewhat contradictory to the message that the future is all about East Hull lads. They already have an array of experienced overseas forwards ahead of them in the pecking order - Paea, Tuimarvarve, Paterson, O'Hara, Withers, Mika, Lovegrove as examples, plus Horne, Griffin, Cox, Netherton etc. What's the pathway for the East Hull brigade if you're saying the Wigan youngsters will get plenty of first team action?

Nobody has ever said that the future is ALL about East Hull lads, and certainly not the immediate future. There is however a real and genuine pathway into the first team for young players at our Club if they prove themselves good enough. Nothing is guaranteed, and shouldnt be if our aim is to re-establish ourselves in the top 8.
Wigan have got the best youth set up in the country, i have seen various youth sides of theirs murder ours over the past few years. If we get the opportunity to sign some of their lads who have proven themselves to be amongst their best but slightly short of their first team expectations then we should jump at it.

The strong likelihood, though, is that these players will be looking at a stint in Rovers first team as a stepping stone to a longer term Lancashire gig. Couple of years and they're back, having taken the opportunity denied to a promising and loyal East Hull player. There are already 11 forwards ahead of them in the rankings, add in 2 Wigan rookies, that makes them 14th choice forward at the club at best. Tough to keep motivated in that environment, but luckily Radders will deliver a coaching upgrade to the current set-up, as you say.

My opinion is that your Chairman is saying one thing about creating a culture around young local players and accelerating their first team chances and a few weeks later you're saying these chances will be gifted to opportunistic Wigan fringe players. My opinion Is consistent with yours that Lee Radford will be a material step up in quality to your youth development programme, and on a related point that FC are now scrimping in this regard.

Not that rare.
Year 3 onwards, challenge for silverware
Announcing signings early in a poor season is selling the fans short
We're not a selling club
We're already the best team in Hull
£1m loan will be used to enhance facilities and infrastructure
I really should post more on the HDM comments section.

We will be signing 2 quality half backs from a list of 4
There will be 6 future internationals announced in September
I could go on, but you get the jist. Bloody Chairmen eh?

If you're talking about enthusiastic/energetic/confident/bullish/(grandly) ambitious/content/happy/relaxed Adam Pearson whose passion is still burning hotter than ever, who is continuing with his approach of being open and honest with the supporters and is pushing on with his pursuit to fulfil a promise - then there is a thread on the Hull Board:
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=539094&tsmp=1350235486
Meanwhile, any potential HKR Taylor-makeweight signings from Wigan (and obvious if barely competent wedge driving if that is your bag ) here.

Clearly, anyone associated with Wigan will do. I'd take the tea lady as cover for full back.

| Our youngsters may not be ready yet, hence a couple of Wigan youngsters coming in to plug the gaps for the time being, not really a problem when you look at it that way.
I'm sure the way forward for Rovers ( and everyother S/L club too ) is through there own youth but you can't do it over night. It's a slow and steady progress where well probably only add 1 or 2 youngsters into the 1st team squad as regulars IMO. Season on season you add another 1 or 2 hopefully.
We've seen Welham, then Taylor, then Cox and now Salter, so if my theory is right we should have a home grown 17 by 2025 can't wait.

| We were linked with Gil Dudson last year, iirc - did he play much this? He was on the bench for one their late season games I think. Ben Flower - is he any good? Rhodri Lloyd at least has a Wiki page, which is more than can be said of Crosby and Spencer. Chuck enough darts and you're bound to hit the bull!

| From what I was told; Rovers' first choice was to take England Academy utility forward, Greg Burke, on a permanent deal but they were told he was firmly 'off-limits'.
The club are now supposed to be talking to prop, Tom Spencer, who impressed during a dual-registration spell at Leigh last season.
The idea of taking full-back Jack Murphy on a season-long loan has also been floated by Wigan.

| I thought it was Chris Tuson who was coming over? Tom Spencer would be a good loan signing. Big, strong forward who looked handy when he was at Leigh.

| From what I heard, Rovers are not interested in a loan deal for Spencer. Any deal would have to be permanent.
Murphy on loan for the season would make perfect sense though. Would initially offer perfect cover while Burns serves out his suspension (allowing Hall to move to 6) then provides 'insurance' if Hall isn't able to make the adjustment to full-back, buying Rovers the time to reavaluate recruitment options.
