| Game on Innit?
Big game this for me.
Wakey have a few back from injury and we've been on the slide, if we're serious about escaping the middle eight (which I think is the best we'll do, we won't trouble the top but I can do without the relegation shizzle) this is a must win.
A solid performance would suit me, nothing flash, make it a relatively expansive game to compensate our lack of grunt and we should be fine.

| William Hill are offering wakie a 14 point start, and the super league predictions gave them a 23 start, personally I just hope Rovers can put last week behind them and win.

| Wakey today based on this post. I always know when it's game day because our toilets complain about abuse due to squeaky bum time over excitement. Definitely not the General Election that's got me going on this occasion, yawn.
Hope we rediscover our mojo tonight. Just raise our intensity and commitment levels from recent games and cut out the errors we will be in with a winning chance.

| Wakefield's knack of turning us over worries me a little. Their recent results have been abysmal mind, but we're hardly in decent form also.
Goes without saying really, that we simply have play better than last week (and at their place too). Getting to grips with Miller and Smith will be start this time.
Time to man up.
Rovers by 70.

| So what did we learn?
Wakefield are beyond awful. We still look soft down the middle. Ken Sio looks like a great option at full back. Still, a bit of pride restored and the points difference almost repaired from last week.

Aye, was stood near me at the end, complete with ill-fitting suit & tie. I've always had him down as a bit of a cock, but fair play to him for the fund raising tonight.

Good man. Scrubbed up better than I would've anticipated as well...his hat thing would've just topped that suit off!
Good to see Jordan Cox back as well.

That may or may not be the case, but he was still their best player last night.

Do you reckon Stan, though he was poor, some really bad deference misses, although he did look dangerous in attack at times, it was a typical Hall performances, when he came through looked like a future international, but for some reason has never kicked on and makes the same mistakes he did when he first came on the scene?
I thought their whole backline was poor, you can't have so many weak defenders (Miller, Hall, Lyne, Riley, Johnson) out wide and expect to win, I thought their pack did well in patchs and one of there props were their best players.
Great game from Campese, just controls the game, you look so much better when he plays, should make a big difference for you next week. Also thought, until his injury Cockayne played well and it worked much better with him FB and Dixon on the wing.

I'm starting to think I watch a different game as I thought we looked out of shape with BC at FullBack and KD on the wing. Sio is never a centre, we look defensively weak with him there. Add to this that the ball out of the back to Dixon was our best option in the early rounds. We need to get Goulding back in ASAP as our back line looks far more balanced with him in the centre slot and Sio on the wing.
BC is a bit of an enigma, adds a lot to the squad but also doesn't fit any position well enough to be first choice. He does seem to have the ability to make some howlers and them be totally overlooked as well. His ridiculous pass to Dixon being prime example. Yet all this being said Wells and Carney were stating he was aiming for MoM until he went off.

Some fair points Dave, their whole team were far worse than I'd expected and I don't see them winning another game until the middle 8's. This makes it even more galling that we dropped 2 points there in February when they still had some self respect.
Hall did look dangerous with ball in hand unlike Smith or Miller. Their other stand out was Simon when he came off the bench.
As for us, Campese is our heartbeat. I liked the look of Sio at full back and if Cockayne is not fit for next week, I'd keep him there in the cup game.
We were 1000 times better than last week, but I can still see a 20-30 point beating at Wigan, such is the developing gap between top & bottom in SL. Wakey have some severe hammering's to come between now & August.

We were and I still thought we looked a bit off the pace. Wigan are as much of a puzzle as we are, they look almost unbeatable at home and yet really shaky when the set foot out of the DW. Suppose next week depends on who decides to the worst away team. I'll go for either a close rovers win or a sizable Wigan one.
Clarkey said we wont get anywhere near top 4 on home form alone (I agree) yet did not level this same criticism at his beloved Wigan last week.

| Nobody expects us to get near the top 4. Given the ongoing issues with front row forwards, I'd take 8th right now so we can get an early start on recruitment for 2016, with a clear focus on the pack.

Speaking as a Wakey fan who ventured over last night, I wish we were as "off the pace as you were" !!. You carved us up all over the field.

We did but I think had we played almost anyone else we would have been on the back foot a lot more. Thing is we are a team that if we can get on the front foot we'll tear almost anyone apart, but against the better teams we struggle to get this platform. It was apparent that in the 1st half it could have gone either way but as you tired and line speed dropped off we just opened up and then looked dangerous.

I agree, if we can't retain Lunt (is he still on paternity leave)? and when Burke goes back to Wigan we will be more desperate than we are now.
I'd also like to think we would strengthen at FB, i still don't see a long term solution in any of the current squad.

Nerve problems in his back ever since the Bradford game when he went off.

Agreed, but props & hooker are a bigger priority. I'd love to keep Lunt but he will be on his way at the end of the season.
