Everyone hurts after performances like todays but thats where we as hkr fans are so much better than fc fans,is it not ?

If the BOD give someone a contract surely we as mear fans should support their decision or should we just destablise the club by abusing and slagging contracted players and coaches after a poor run of games ?

On a more constructive note, who would people look to bring in to solve the problems? Talking about solutions is a basis for conversation. 'Not good enough, get rid' is a tantrum. And, yes, 'get stuffed you patronising git' would be an insult.

As pointless as this thread is ... it's exactly what 'mere fans' do. Advising someone to become coach in order to offer an opinion on players is just as pointless too.

That said - I would agree with the original poster on a few of them.
Vella has served the club wonderfully but I don't think he has ever recovered from his injury a Bradford a few seasons back. Another season would be a mistake
Clinton > Has he done enough? Not really in my opinion
Galea > Awesome, but I can't see him continuing after this season.

Colbon and Fox were ace last season and total polar opposites this season.

agree about vell hasnt been the same for the last couple of years but who would you replace him with and given that he dosent count on the quota ect then maybe hes worth 1 more year, galea for me isnt the same but still has a bit of class about him and again with him not on the quota and lack of englisg ooc players id give him 1 more year

Assuming here that Morgan remains as coach? Number one priority - You need a better front row. O'Meley and Moa are OOC and, I think, settled in the area. Many on here have argued extensively that O'Meley is a "typical dross signing" and Moa is a joke, but personally I'd take either over Vella or Clinton. Perhaps a cheeky bid is in order, and Ogre in particular was supposed to be joining Mason, so it's not a ridiculous scenario.

Number 2 priority - hooker to rotate with Hodgson. Tricky one, this - you really need an experienced player to bring Hodgson through, but these are few and far between. I would definitely use a quota spot on a top drawer hooker if I were Morgan.

NUmber 3 priority - (at least) one new winger. Fox needs some TLC to rebuild his shattered confidence, but you don't become a bad player overnight. Sounds like David Hodgson is your answer here.

You need a couple of big dirty =#FF0000Edit-RW props to mix it up....You also need to sort out the wings, maybe a big signing on the wing, this may bring some competition and help fox regain some form. You definitely need a hooker to rotate...You need to keep hold of Dobbo.

If folks want to post such threads they are more than welcome to.

Replacing Colbon for David Hodgson wouldn't be a bad move...

If we bring in similar players on similar money we can expect similar results. We should promote 3 or 4 from the academy, players who will relish the challenge for the challenges sake not simply for the money and do the same the year after, these young players will become the backbone of the team for the next 7/8 years and will cost less (initially) than the likes of Vella, Clinton, Fisher, Murrell, Colbon etc. Pace is definately a prerequisite becasue we have none.

On top of that we need, desperatley, an enforcer type prop who can break a tackle and cause defences a few problems.

I still support Morgan as coach but the one thing he falls short on for me is the ability to pick up potential super league players from the lower divisions there are some good players there who with full time training would do well. also some of the Union players below the top divisions are the type of big individuals we need & at first they would come at a bargain price thus allowing a bigger squad. That though would mean taking risks but there will not be many good Aussies coming now the NRL cap is being raised so we might as well get ahead of the game as well as puting faith in the products of our junior set up.

A good realistic target there.
