I believe that if we stay in the EU, then it should be as a reformed EU acting as a trading partner which was as originally intended back in 1973, imo, been in the EU certainly does have its advantages but unfortunately as it currently stands. The European Union is run by unelected, unaccountable elites whose power is vast, they often bring in legislation that has not been voted on in our national parliament, yet supersedes our own laws that do pass through such democratic processes.
I do some of my trade within he EU myself and find the bureaucracy plus red tape on business at times ridiculous and unnecessary, in fact there have been 3,600 new laws imposed on British businesses since 2010, its actually strangling some UK firms and making it harder to compete with corporations in the US, plus emerging markets in the Far East and South America.
I have also to disagree with your point regarding open trade routes and there'll be no jobs.
There are many ways in which the UK could maintain its free trade with Europe - Switzerland and Norway have free trade with the EU but are not members. plus, the UK also imports more from EU member states than it exports to them, so in my view they would be substantially harming their own economies if they imposed tariffs.

Again to comment on the thread. A few issues.
You have to talk about politics. Not too is ridiculous. To not so to avoid disagreements sounds beyond comprehension...let's not talk about Mr Hitler love and maybe he won't be as bad as we think he is.......
The post above reads like a UKIP manifesto. There are many issues with th EU. To compare the UK economy to the Swiss and Norwegian ones isn't an appropriate comparison. More people live in London than both countries put together. They are both rich...one through a history of appalling banking practices. Our service economy needs the EU and we get huge subsidies from it.
I dont know if people have noticed we do elect EU MPs at elections.......ask Mr Farage. They aren't unelected powerful elites...that's our country were a government with a third of the votes....a third runs the country.
Business needs red tape otherwise it ends in banditry. The mafia are unregulated business in action.
Our economies are constantly bust by the 'money markets'...banking etc. Since the torys de-regulated banking it has been a free for all for short term shysterism. Make huge amounts retire at 35 and f#ck the long term consequences. This has been repeated ad nauseam back to the Louisiana bubble 300 years ago.
Don't buy the finger pointing at everybody else.
The eu and immigrants didn't sell everyone mortgages they couldn't afford then protect the crooks that did. The eu and labour weren't running the US economy in 2008.
The nhs is being privatised overseen by the new reform and commissioners who have no idea what they are doing.
We need to treat drug addicts and alcohol users (90% of the UK public drink). If we don't where does it stop. Don't treat rugby players.....they know the risk....sorry you were driving to fast.....sorry shouldn't have climbed that mountain etc. There's plenty of ways of improving the nhs the new reforms are about dismantling it. Why has a private firm with no building or staff got a contract in Hull for services over nhs ones who have some of the best treatment outcomes in the country......
