Quote="FLEETWOOD MAC"As a father of one of the Blackpool players and speaking for several other of my sons team mates, i am disgusted at what has happened to the panthers this last week
.
Several players including my son have stayed loyal to the club during the recent troubles and they did not sign for anyone else even when they knew the club had gone into admin. They now find themslves with a difficult job of finding another team as most other teams have already fully recruited, also most of them are still owed money from last year which they will now never receive (Thanks Mr Hope)
Such a shame as their are several good players now in limbo who would walk into any National league 1 side.
Those players should be applauded and i hope not just for my own son they all get new clubs soon.
I also feel sorry for the loyal panther fans, I hope you rise from the ashes again one day
My son and myself have had some happy memories of the last two years
The memorable 9s win and that great performance at Leeds in the challenge cup. Great times
'"
Totally agree with everything you say, on behalf of every panthers fan i think every season has been memorable through the
many defeats and recently victories. No matter what the result we always believed in the players. we supported in defeat
just as much as victory, that is why blackpool panthers was the club it was. The players and supporters made it great. Up the panthers
Blackpool was my club and when they left town before I tried this but it just isn't the same. You cannot reverse a 35 year love affair with the flick of a switch. My heart has been broken too many times over that period with false dawns and crackpot ideas to just go and look elsewhere.
I'm certainly not alone in feeling this way and this, sadly, is one of a number of reasons why the club just won't get any meaningful backing in the area.
Everyone is deeply cynical and sceptical that each new dawn will bring anything beyond heartbreak. You can't keep dragging yourself up of the canvas for ever to have your hopes raised and then shattered just as quickly when the latest dreamer gets bored with his expensive trainset.
RL is full of crooks, sharks and incompetent idiots at management and board level and I can happily find my fill of them from 9-5, Mon-Fri without having my heart ripped out at weekends as an added bonus on top.
Sometimes you just have to move on. I've plenty of other things in my life that would benefit from some extra time being available to them (not least the wife and kids!!) so that's me done with the game for the forseeable.
Terrible news for the game. I've been a bit preoccupied recently, my mother being ill, and didn't realise the full extent of this situation. I can't believe there'll be no trips to Fylde next year. Being an Eagles fan, we weren't in your division, but me and my mate came over 2 or 3 times a season for a weekend. I agree with the other posters about you keeping together as a band of fans and travelling to matches as a group - you'll be made welcome down at Bramall Lane I can tell you. Keep the faith.

Well said , and the whole RFL organisation is rotten from the top down. That tennis loving clown Lewis cares not for the game or he wouldnt be making it such a joke by supporting the welsh experiment whilst letting older clubs struggle and die. Ive had a soft spot for Blackpool since that regal final against us and feel angry, sad, bitter and the rest that your club can be cut adrift while the Crusaders and the Quins go on their annual 'were skint, give us some more money please' trip.
Outrageous decision by the RFL, but i feel you will rise again and prove the s wrong
Quote="fylde coaster"totally agree about crusaders one rule super league & one for ch1 clubs !! If any one wants to watch some summer rugby next summer Blackpool Stanley will be running a team this summer if any one fancys playing or just gettinng involed you are more than welcome you can contact me on email conrad.pitman@sky.com .'"
There was nothing better for me these last few years than going over to Blackpool for the weekend to watch the Sea Eagles on a Saturday and the Panthers on a Sunday although these last couple of years i wasn't able to get over as often as previously due to family commitments but i did get over for the last regular season game against Hunslet, which seems quite poignant now, never thought at the time it would end like this!
I will still be over to watch the Sea Eagles and Stanley over the summer now - not forgetting Scorpions in the winter - but won't be quite the same without a Panthers game to look forward to.
I am absolutely gutted about this and i hope something can be salvaged of this in time for 2012 season (too late for 2011) - maybe a team in the RLCN playing at Mechanics ground like Gladiators used to or over the road at Squires Gate!
I agree we have probably seen the last semi-pro RL team in Blackpool - but i live in hope.
