| They can't get much right ...
But I like the shirts ... the maroon one is way more interesting than the other, which is boring in comparison.
Maroon?
Marooned in League 1?
Also, as our masters, I thought the Rovers wanted some red and white somewhere.
For the Club Doncaster bollox.

| Just had a look on the Cleggbook... yes, they're are some unhappy chappies on there!
Just to clarify, there was no mention at any of the Fans Panel meetings that the blue and gold was going to be abandoned. I would have thought it wise to canvas some opinion before making such a drastic change.
Quote from the Dons' website: "The kits are a fitting testament to a new sense of direction at the club, after confirming that they are going alone in 2020 without the dual-registration system that they have previously called upon. The club have maintained a blue and yellow theme in some part with the 2020 away kit."
I'm a traditionalist and don't feel comfortable moving away from blue and gold. Just in the same way I wouldn't like Donny Rovers to move away from red and white. I wonder what the Rovers fans would have to say if they did? The Cleggbook would explode!
I fail to see the reason this change. We certainly don't need to celebrate our split with Hull by doing this!

| I'm pretty surprised Carl sanctioned this. The silver lining is due to the "away kit" it's an easy thing to sort out. Some common sense is needed here. The decision seems very arbitrary.

| With the start of the season nearly upon us the kit issue is not the main issue for me . They were getting rid of dual reg & getting out of League 1.
Well we have split with Hull FC . Getting promotion may be more difficult ! It will not depend on what colour shirts we wear. I have always liked the blue & gold but hey ho .

| Is it definitely the right way round?
I mean it wouldn't be the first time for someone to type something wrong would it?
In which case all this would be unnecessary.

| This article seems to cement the fact that we now play in Maroon as opposed to the Traditional Blue and Gold that we have all grown up.
[urlhttps://www.doncasterrugbyleague.co.uk/article/531/news-|-boas-arrives-back-in-uk[/url
Real misstep by the club, can you imagine any other team doing it or even the Rovers moving fully over to Blue and Gold......Look what happened when Vincent Tan wanted to change the colors that Cardiff City played in [urlhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6231138/cardiff-city-owner-vincent-tan-red-shirt/[/url
We had one awful season away from the Blue and Gold in the ill-fated "Lakers" days, that worked out well didn't it?
Quote The kits are a fitting testament to a new sense of direction at the club, after confirming that they are going alone in 2020 without the dual-registration system that they have previously called upon.'"
Which marketing mastermind came up with this quote?
Yes another faux pas from Club Doncaster, I could get on board with the away strip being the Maroon, as traditionally away shirts are the "experimental" ones, but deffo not a home shirt, we look too much like Batley or Manley or ever Queensland sadly the appearance is where the similarities end.
Reading Cleggbook the usual suspects are defending the indefensible, but a lot of people are not happy, it's handy they waited until after Christmas and people received season tickets tho, I'm pretty sure we could have had a preview of the "designs" many months before they went into production, the cynic in my thinks this was a calculated "release" so people were already committed.
This along with the news that the Eagles will be using Castle Park, and I am sure we have made efforts to maybe you know to play our "home" games in South Yorkshire or better still inside the Doncaster borough. Everyone will love wearing the Maroon home strip at those home games at Post Office Road.
I guess the ONLY positive is that shirts have been produced by a Doncaster firm so we're putting into the local economy.

| This is a ridiculous decision which benefits nobody. I'm proud to wear the blue and gold. This smacks of one of the most divisive times in our history. The Lakers. I can't believe the current club are so stupid as to follow this through. I'm BEGGING the current regime to change this. Hally. What colours did you play in. PLEASE reverse this!!!

| I await my personal threat from him or his family as the norm or maybe the valued club sponsor will offer me out for a fight again??
Paul - The club did the right thing in ending dual reg, but I cannot praise them for doing what was clearly common sense, the singing of Boas is excellent as is Logan, letting Kes go was a mistake for me and while I think we have some quality backs and decent half backs I think were very light going forward with only really Ross as with some punch, lose him were very flat and we came unstuck last year against big packs and we have not, in my opinion, strengthened accordingly.
We have played in a Red strip under the Desmond years, if was if I recall my first season fulltime at the Dons, but I think that was the away strip the home strip was still very much Blue and Gold, but I might be wrong I'm sure my Dad will pop up shortly and correct me
We really don't have a recognised fullback, I agree Logan will make a decent fist of it but I would prefer him in the centres with Tali, I hold hope out that Sanderson might still join us as out No. 1.
We do however seem to have a glut of 9's .

I have just viewed my videos of Dons home & away games in the 1986 season the shirts were sponsored by PDC the home shirts were Blue & Gold the away shirt was Red both had PDC written on the front of the shirt.

| This news has prompted me to post for the first time in a number of years. Will it force me to rip up my season ticket? No. Not attend games?. No. Change my life? No.
However, I can't even begin to fathom the logic behind this decision and would suggest this is a huge and UNNECESSARY own goal by the club and do nothing but cause further division between the club and a section of its fans at a time when everyone should be pulling together.
I can't believe supporters of any reputable and established sports club in the world would accept this without any consultation or coherent explanation. The official statement linking the change in colours to the removal of dual registration is probably the most inane and crass marketing statement I can remember.
And for the record I am very much a supporter of the Club Doncaster concept and would class myself firmly in the 'happy clappers' camp. I only hope common sense will prevail and the kits will be reversed. And I do hate maroon!

| I fully echo Wiggum's sentiment here. Count me too as a happy clapper if you like. This is an entirely pointless decision. I'm sure that many, like me, were looking forward to the announcement of the new kit. All I can suggest is that we boycott the maroon and buy the blue. I'll be there tomorrow to get my proper Dons top.

| Been thinking (dangerous, I know) but I'm not buying into this maroon shirt mallarkey anymore. I would suggest it's fake news!
I would suggest the club has done it as a marketing ploy to get everyone taking about the Dons before the first friendly.
I reckon that at 2.58 next Sunday, when the teams come onto the pitch, a PA announcement will be made asking everyone to welcome the Dons onto the pitch for the first time this year as they are going to play in their new 2020 home strip.
When they come onto the pitch they will be wearing the blue and gold shirt that has previously been reported as the away strip or, to carry on the story further, they will come out in the maroon shirt and then immediately before kick-off, remove those shirts to reveal the blue and gold underneath!
Roll on next Sunday in order to find out the real truth!

I thought that too Jemmo but hey-ho, it just throws more thoughts into the mix. Surely the club wouldn't stick to doing something silly just because they've been rumbled?

| I would humbly suggest the club do just that on Sunday week even if this is real.
That way everybody, but a few, are happy and they would get a tremendous round of applause and laughter and would have had tremendous shirt publicity.
If it turns out to be a ruse, it really would be a masterstroke.
But are they clever enough???
