| Expecting a half-decent crowd as it's Hull first friendly.
I wonder if the two season-long loan players will be in our squad? I would imagine so. Who might they be? Jack Sanderson and Liam Harris?
[uHere's a list of potential DR candidates[/u:
Hakim Miloudi (I love to see him play- he's 'off the cuff' and great to watch)
Jez Litten (Good player but we might not see much off him unless Danny Houghton is going to play 80 minutes every game. I reckon Jez will get plenty of game time from off the bench)
Jack Logan (Did a good job for us last season. Would be nice to see him play here again)
Cameron Scott (Highly regarded lad who might find opportunities limited at Hull. Good player in the making)
Matty Dawson-Jones (Will he break into the first team? If not he might get a few games for us?)
Jordan Lane (another who may have limited opportunities at Hull if their squad stays fit. Always tries hard and has done well in a Dons' shirt before)
Lewis Bienek (same as Jordan Lane in many ways)
[uOther players outside the Hull one to seventeen are[/u:
Brad Fash, Sika Manu, and Mickey Paea. It's probably unlikely we will see any of those, but it might not be impossible.
[uMore likely are[/u:
Levy Nzoungou a young prop forward signed from Salford and back-rower Danny Langtree who signed for Hull from Oldham. I'm sure Danny Langtree would do a good job for us. I don't know anything about the young prop.
[uYoungsters added to the Hull squad include[/u:
Charlie Graham, Connor Wynne, Kieran Buchanan, and Jack Brown.
I presume selection rules are still the same this season in that we can have a maximum of five loans/DR in our squad at any one time.
What are your predictions/hopes?

Sanderson and Harris are the two most likely to be on loan.
I am certain Rich Horne will be pushing Lee Radford for a front row and once Green and Bowden are match fit i can see both Bienek and Nzoungou given some game time at Doncaster. These two are still very young but big, strong and both have pace.
Until we know the reserve team schedule which will impact Hull player availability its difficult to assess who will be made available to Doncaster but outside of the 2 loan players i can see Jack Logan being the most regular D/R player and the others made up of rotated forwards.I expect you will also see at times some of the more experienced forwards given the expected fragmented reserve schedule.

| Dunno why the 2 Hull players mentioned as year long loans can't be named ... but I gave up weeks ago.

| News on Jack Logan. He appears to be playing for Hull on Sunday (so guessing he's not one of the season-long loan players);

I notice that Big Lewis is not named either in the Hull 21, that would be a very pleasant surprise if he turned out for us.

| Here's the Dons' squad:
Matty Beharrell, Connor Bower, Ryan Boyle, Matty Chrimes (Trialist), Sam Doherty, Brandon Douglas, Ryan Dixon (Trialist), Brad Foster, Jordan Howden, Harris Jones (Trialist), Kyle Kesik, Kieran Lawton (Trialist), Richard Owen, Connor Scott, Russ Spiers, Jason Tali, Liam Welham.
Dissecting the 17 man squad:
Props: Ryan Boyle, Brandon Douglas, Connor Scott and Russ Spiers.
Full back: Richard Owen.
Wing: Sam Doherty and ???
Centres: Two from Liam Welham, Connor Bower, and Jason Tali
Half Backs: Matty Beharrell and Jordan Howden
Hooker: Kyle Kesik
Second Row: Brad Foster and ???
Loose Forward: ???
Plus four trialists.
There's no Jordie Hedges, Keiran Cross, Frankie Mariano, or Brandan Wilkinson (who is presumably still recovering from injury).

| 2 of the trailists are young lads from toll bar and the other 2 both university students. This squad to me highlights how weak our squad still is. I was expecting 2 of the trialists to be seasoned pros not uni students... nearly 3 months since we signed a player... what’s going on ??

Correct. Well spotted. I thought we looked thin in the second row.
I hope we'll get to know who the season-long loans are soon.
With it being Kes's testimonial next week and a few 'guest players' turning out (which will be nice to see) the only real chance we're going to have to field our likely first choice side will be against London.

| Looking forward to today's game although I'm not quite as 'bubbly' about it as I would be if there were a few established new names in the squad. I'm keen to see how Brandon Douglas goes. Also looking forward to seeing Keiran Lawton play.
I really like watching Hakim Miloudi - shame he's going to be dancing around us, instead of playing for us. I very much want him to succeed at Hull as I believe the game needs players like him but part of me also hopes we might see him play a game or two for us at some point during the season.

| Well I am going.
But I don't expect much.
So I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
But three friendly defeats followed by a defeat at Newcastle would not be the best start to the season.
And that is what we are facing.
Horne says the score doesn't matter.
He would wouldn't he.
I am not sure how that would fit with an avowed emphasis on defence.
We may be worldbeaters ..
But it seems like groundhog day to me.

| I prefer to think the following. 1 glorified training session. 1 proper testimonial match for a club legend. 1 genuine competetive friendly against a side we competed very well against this time next year. The Newcastle game is up in the air but if you genuinely think we've got no chance then I'd pack in now Brian.

Well you got my name right.
Can you tell me what is wrong with saying whether you think your side will win or not?

Quality across the park ... unfortunately almost all from Hull.
If anyone can explain what we got from that, apart from a few bob, I am listening.

| Decent gate so Carl should be happy with the income, and as much as I admire Hakim's silky footwork and some charging runs from the Hill forwards, I fail to see what positives Richard can take from such one sided games. Surely the idea of pre season friendlies should be to prepare us for the season ahead, not to practice restarts the whole afternoon!

I said exactly the same, I would love for some explanation as to the benefit the Club or players have derived today.
As a supporter, I felt that I learned very little about the current squad watching them being humiliated by what wasn't far off a Hull second team.

Luckily we haven't many to get demoralised in our promotion chasing side.
