| I've been in touch with the club and they've been in discussions with West Wales for some time regarding bringing the kick-off time forward.
The Dons are expecting to make an announcement about developments later today.

Why? Is something happening on Sunday?
How early would you like the opposition to travel?
Is it not inconvenient enough to change the venue of the game,at such late notice?
( I may NOT be being particularly serious )

We could always move the kick-off back until after the World Cup final has been played. Everyone could have a lie in then! Only kidding!

To be fair, the venue was changed months ago, hardly short notice.
I have said all along though id both clubs aren't happy to move it; they can't

| If England do make the final , the club would be better off putting a couple of taxis on as I cant see the crowd being over twenty.
Even if the kick off is moved, people are not going to drive to Featherstone to watch a nothing game against a side getting pumped by upwards of 80 points every week when the world cup final is on.

If one books up 3 months in advance, for trains and accommodation,as one is advised to do by the railway companies, and hotels, for competitive prices,it was short notice.
Just as well I booked bus travel and alternative accommodation.
Have tent,will travel.
I'm just guessing - but should Engurland reach the cup final - and score a goal from a set-piece - the goals will be repeated in full glorious colour on many, many future occasions.

| Keighley have now brought their weekend game forward to Friday night. Hunslet v Bradford is a 1pm KO. Workington v Whitehaven is 1.30. Coventry v Hemel and Newcastle v N Wales are starting at 2pm.
Our game is the only one due to kick-off at 3pm. A 2pm kick-off wouldn't really work as fans still wouldn't be home by 4pm. We'd need to have a 1pm start like Hunslet v Bradford.
Unless N Wales agree to the change it can't happen, and we've still got to consider whether Fev could get all the staff in early as well.
It's a no-brainer for me though. I like football but I'd rather watch the Dons than the World Cup final even if England are in it.

They are all playing people who live round the corner, Wales have hours of travel so unless someone was going to pay for them to stop over the night before (and why should they do it themselves) it's not as easy for them to move.
I love the Dons, but i'd not want to miss the chance of watching what could be a once in a lifetime event for a nothing game between 2 teams who can't achieve that much this year and will be repeating the affair next year

I remember watching England in 1966. As kids we were all singing and chanting in the streets afterwards. Great memories. We all thought we'd win it again in 1970 and here we are, still waiting. I hope we can get the kick-off changed so we can watch both.
I realise it's a bit messy for Wales but I hope something can be sorted.

Fully agree Jemmo.
With the apathy of this game I fear the stewards will out-number the fans four to one.
Firstly we have a home game that is anything but.
A promotion challenging team that is anything but.
A credible opposition which is anything but.
Combine that with a chance to see England make history in the world cup final ……….. I know where most people will be, and it wont be Post Office Road

| Hi Di Hi!
See you got your own way.
I may just have a wry smile if England don't make the final.
I can't remember you cricket loving Yorkshire folk wanting to change ko times when the Ashes Games were 'interesting'.
On the subject of interesting - don't let your players/coaching staff know about the referee and his previous involvement with West Wales Raiders.
Fun under the sun in Featherstone.Looking forward to it...and our 2 new signings making a difference.

| The distance from Llanelli to Featherstone is 220 miles & unless they are planning to travel on Saturday with an overnight stop they are going to have to set off very early Sunday morning.
Just a thought if England or GB Rugby League team made it to the final of the Rugby World Cup how many football league teams would alter there kick off times so they didn't clash with the televising of the final.

Your lot must have agreed or it wouldn't have moved. England may not make the final, but surely it's better to make any changes now than even closer to the game cause some people moan that 3 months is too short notice, let alone 3 days

I'll have you know I'm a happy chappy every second of every waking moment.I never tell a lie, either.
Yes,West Wales Raiders are a lovely club and very obliging. We even let the opposition get on the scoreboard!
3 months is just the advice to get something close to value for money for impecunious persons like myself.
Being a rugby league follower I know how valued my support is because I am the lifeblood of the sport.I think it was 3 days before the game at Coventry was announced publicly to have been postponed by the RFL so they could play a Challenge Cup game. ( Coventry that is,not the RFL )
That were a waste of money, having paid 3 months in advance.
To show exactly what a happy chappy I am,and why,the referee for Sunday is the same fella we had when we played York away, earlier this year.I'm not one for bad omens, though.

| Taken from the Dons website, a 19 man squad for the Dons on Sunday; and an 18 man squad for W Wales:
C. Scott 1 Cowburn
Owen 2 M. Davies
Jones-Bishop 3 Kislingbury
Welham 4 Williams
Tali 5 Kaye
Doherty 6 C. Parker
Howden 7 McClean
Harris 8 Elliot
Spiers 9 Billingham
Kesik 10 Higgs
Boyle 11 Tennant
England 12 Boots
Muranka 13 Stroud
Hedges 14 Snook
C. Scott 15 Parry
Martin 16 Harris
Litten 17 Walker
Mariano 18 Kelly
Beharrell 19
Although it does appear that Connor Scott is playing twice for us!
Harris and Litten are the only two from Hull although I wonder if Sanderson should be down at number one?
