Match Preview

Doncaster Rugby League Club will face their toughest challenge to date in the Kingstone Press Championship when they make the journey to Lancashire to play Leigh Centurions on Sunday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Dons' head coach Tony Miller will check on prop forward Mark Castle (back spasms) before naming his squad. 27 year-old Castle missed last week's 26-4 home victory over Workington Town along with centre Liam Cunningham who is still side-lined with a shoulder injury.

Centre/second rower Chris Spurr will also be subject to a late fitness test after picking up a knock last weekend and Miller is hopeful that full back Lee Waterman will make the trip over the Pennines.

Wakefield's dual registered players of Danny Cowling, Bobbie Goulding, Liam Kay and Kyle Trout are available for the blue and gold's once again as is utility back James Clare of Castleford (season long loan).

Miller said: "Leigh will be a very tough test for us, but there's no pressure on our guys.

"Mentally we've come a long way. Our main focus this season was to consolidate and keep ourselves in this division, but if we can finish in the top eight then that would be as successful for us as last season."

"We've had a good start to 2013 but we're not getting carried away. It's a long, hard season so it's important we keep our feet on the ground and take each game as it comes."

Matt Gardner is suspended for Leigh, while Centurions head coach Paul Rowley also has a minor doubt over Michael Ostick. But Rowley could make more changes after admitting every member of his squad is staking a claim for selection.

Rowley said: "We've got some middle-unit players ready and chomping at the bit and it's getting really difficult to not pick some players at the moment.

"We might just put some new bodies in this week, because the pressure from underneath is getting to the stage where I can't ignore it."

On Doncaster, he added: "They're a big, physical side that's full of confidence, so we'll have to be tight in the middle and defensively honest.

"They've got two wins from three this year, and before that they had a Grand Final win.

"They've got team harmony, and all the consistent and winning teams in our leagues have shown that to be a factor in any success."
