| Exciting ...
Incidentally not too many years ago we had some part say in what we thought looked a good strip, and more to the point what we might buy.
Still, if people want a pork pie in the real world, it makes good sense to offer them a meat and potato pie instead.
Moral ... know your market.
That knowledge comes from a bit of market research.
Perhaps we did that, but I never heard anything about it if we did.
COYD
By the way DonsNews, I think it is great that you are using this forum to keep us informed.
That is sensible practice.
One thing I would say though to help you in your new job is that this forum is a two way street. It can be used as a bulletin board, which is how you are using it, but it can also be used as a market research tool (albeit using a small sample).
Now I wouldn't expect you to read all of the posts on here to get a view on anything, and take my advice don't enter into any debates, but you could ask questions, present questionnaires, do polls etc to help you in your job.
Just a thought.
Then we might think we had some say in policy, however small.
The ball is in your court.
It's a funny shaped ball so be careful.

I didn't go to that, how many did?
Was anything posted on here about it at the time?
Were there some other opportunities to have a say?
When I said we had an opportunity a few years ago to give an opinion, I meant forum users.
Still it's nice to know that [isome[/i people had an input.

I wasn't aware of this either.
I saw on the Batley website that they had a choice of three different kits which the fans could vote for, however the only problem with that is fans of your local rivals could vote for a hidious design to make you look stupid.
I am sure last week i saw on here a sneak preview of a design saying you could see a shirt being made at some forthcoming event but now it has disappeared!
The picture was of last seasons shirt with a gold band across one of the shoulders.

Two things ...
First ... I don't need local rivals to make me look stupid.
Second ... None of the three designs put forward would be a stupid one would it? So I don't think it could possibly happen.
Now, if fans could design their own ... maybe we would get some stupid ones!

| I applaud the club for supporting local business and wish the manufacturer well, however i find to my tastes both designs are awful. Maybe i am old fashioned but they are too way out for me. I'll probably get a polo shirt or something though instead.

The Batley Bulldogs shirts have paw prints on them and are therefore stupid. I rest my case.

| I'm a traditionist like Rupert - much prefer the old fashioned type of designs.
It can't be easy trying to come up with something new, original, and likeable every season!
I hope they sell well and raise some cash for the club along with giving the sponsors some well deserved publicity.

| I quite like the kit... it's modern and we aren't living in the 50s are we?
I love the way they have got a macho one for the MEN and a feminine one for the GIRLIES.
Wouldn't it be great if a team could field a side with a mixture?
All the girly ones would get smashed or embraced.

Not living in the fifties? You speak for yourself.
Maybe it will look better in the flesh so to speak. We'll have to wait and see.

| I'm all for traditional kits, for a reason (anniversary seasons etc)
I quite like the look of them, they were described to me a week ago and I pulled a face, the pictures do them more justice

Yes, at first look i'm not too keen but it depends upon the quality of the gear when it turns up. But i hope we sell a few if it helps the club and supports local business.
Maybe in future it would be a good idea to alternate every other season between a traditional design and a modern one, or traditional home/away and modern away/home, that way everyone should be happy.

| seen the shirt but i think its a lot like one of the older Leeds Rhinos shirt.don't know the exact season. The yellow or gold on the Leeds shirt does extend iir a lot more on the badge shoulder.Never liked the Rhinos shirt of that style so i am not sure about this one.Mind you the pink & grey is very fetching oooo

| Just want to applaud the Club.
For the first time in a long time we have:
1.Confirmed pre-season friendlies.
2.Confirmed kits and sponsors and as importantly merchandise to match on its way (Please can this stuff be availabe on match days) it has been a mare in recent years to get these items for Xmas.
3.We have got some signings on the table and yes they may not all be the names and positions we want in all cases, but Tony is attracting players and as well as keeping a lot of last season team.
4.Updates from the club on progress and initiatives...
In the grand scheme we are night and day from where we have been...
Just a tip on kits - It is worthwhile rotating them so each season one new kit is launched...so next year we would retain home and change away and then vice versa following. This used to be the case for the football teams. It makes the kits more attractive purchases and makes sure costs in hard times are met. I don't believe for one minute sales would decrease on this format - it also makes coming up with designs a tad easier!!!! And Hoodies and coats would be ideal too.
So I have now got 2 months to turn a barrel into a six pack in order to do the shirts justice!!!!!
So let's make sure the stock is accessible and in time and that my season tickets land soon!!!!
Then I for one will be as happy as I have been before any season for a long time...Good work Carl and Co...
