| Dont know but there is a big sign just been put up at Keepmoat saying HOME OF DONCASTER ROVERS, what about a sign saying Doncaster Community stadium home of Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster Rugby League and Doncaster Belles or has the Community stadium been sold to the rovers or dont they give a damn about the latter two.
Castle park please open up a discussion with them.

| have heared that the Rovers are in talks with the mayor about buying the stadium, so it will become Rovers own.
I do think the Rovers would look after us though, they did at Belle Vue after all

| Become part of the Castle Park set up. Not only is the place financially sound and well developed, it also serves great beers (potentially even better this season).

| The playing surface looks stunning, there are some photos on the Rovers site. From what I have read on most of the sites, there has been no or very litle comment about the Rugby effecting the pitch. Most of the comment (adverse) was reserved for the ill thought out American Football game. The bad weather (frost) earlier on this year also seems to have been a factor. I understand that the covers the ground staff use are ok down to about minus 4 C but of course it was a lot colder than that. That of course does not affect us (unless you count the usual Hunslet pre season friendly) . Will be interesting to see how these proposed Stadium talks develop. Saying it is one thing, carrying it out is another.

For what its worth castle park looks like a much better set up for your club. The Keepmoat while a fantastic stadium is way too big for your club atm, you have say 6-800 Die hard supporters. Thats too few to be rattling arround in a 20k + stadium and im sure the rent must be a real big slice of your budget?
Just looked at the facilities at Castle park ( www.thedemulder-lloydstand.co.uk/ ) and they seem to be a good standard and would help build an atmosphere while still leaving room for growth. If you could negotiate a much smaller rental package for Castle Park then you are currently paying then i dont see how the keepmoat could still be considered an option.
A move like this could kick start your revival next year and even open up an interesting new market ( knights fans ) for potential future support.
Anyhow keep the RL fight in Doncaster going, Its a good club and one that should certainly be saved.

So would I if it was down to the choice of ale, but I would be very suprised if we actually ended up playing there. I know that it has been often talked about but nothing was ever established that actually made a move feasible. Can we lay this rent at the Keepmoat to rest, I think most of us realise that the cost of the rent is not the actual cause of the financial trouble.

I also heard the rumour, but to be fair the current mayor got elected on a number of promises which are out of his remit, and I feel this may be another one.
It is possible the money used to build the stadium was loaned on the proviso that it was to be used as a Community Stadium. I suppose if it ceased to be a Community Stadium penalties may be imposed.
Although the Keepmoat is nt ideal, I remember having the ordeal of watching Hunslet at Elland Road with my knees under my many chins, or being upto date the not too glorious South Leeds Stadium, or sat getting wet 3 miles away from the action at the Don Valley Stadium, or stood in a stadium with no seats in half the ground and at Halifax, or York with 8 lanes around it. Those are only the ones that immediately spring to mind, the Keepmoat does nt feel that bad after all, and it is really up to whoever takes the club on in the future to make the Keepmoat work better for the Dons.
